First Annual Specialty Show (UKC)

It was a beautiful sunny day in Davis, California for the first annual
Dalmatians of North America specialty. The theme was in appreciation of the normal
uric acid Dalmatians and the University of California at Davis which is home to Dr. Danika Bannasch
Laboratories and the discovery of the canine uric acid gene.
At 9:00 am the Sacramento TV station came to interview Dr. Danika Bannasch PhD and Bob Schaible PhD
to discuss the importance of the gene discovery to the Dalmatian breed.
It was a wonderful sight to be surrounded by so many people who have
worked so hard for the breed they love.
Judge Tom Tracy began the show at 10:00 am with the dog classes, which had a total entry of 5.
Encantados Where There’s a Will was winner
of the Junior Dog class & selected Best Male
(pictured here to the left).
Sunrunner Aberdeen Black Bart was the winner
of the Senior Dog class & Reserve Best Male
(pictured here to the right).
Dotter’s Eyes of the World was the
winner of the Bred by Exhibitor Dog class.

Bitches had a total entry of 6. The winner of the Junior Female class
was Aberdeen’s Daisylani (pictured here to the right) and the winner of the
Adult Female class and Reserve Best Female was
Aberdeen and Dotter’s Ataraxis
(pictured here below).

After the show the exhibitors and spectators had a wonderful lunch, a CERF clinic, and a very impressive
educational seminar hosted by Dr. Irv Krukenkamp MD.
The DNA meeting followed the seminar and the day came to a close with a wonderful dinner and fun
conversation with friends.
It was truly a heartfelt sight to see Bob Schaible surrounded by so many generations of his life’s work.
Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to all the people
who made this specialty such a success!
