POTENTATE’S MESSAGE
A special thank you to those who attended the Installation of Officers
and shared a momentous day with me and my family. Also thanks for
the good wishes from those who were unable join us.
My theme for the year is Freemasonry and Shrinedom United. If we
plan and work together we can
Increase both our membership and our attendance at planned events
Tebala Memorial Service on January 4th was well attended even with the unfriendly weather. We are saddened by the loss last year of 41 Nobles to the Black Camel. We cannot stop the Black Camel, but we can
stop the loss due to suspension. We suspended 29 Nobles due to non payment of dues this past year. Are
we doing something to cause these Nobles to drop their membership? How do we solve this problem and
keep the ones we have? With everyone’s help maybe we can reverse this trend. Membership is the key
to our survival.
We have a very busy year planned with Tebala and our Shrine Clubs and Units.
These are not only for our Nobility and their Ladies, but also for family and friends.
February 13th is the Valentine’s Day Dinner
March 13th is the St. Patrick’s Day Dinner
March 22nd is Alabet Temple Installation of Officers
April 5th is the Children’s Easter Egg Hunt
April 18th is Spring Ceremonial and Membership Award Night
May 23rd is a trip to Medieval Times
These events are open to your family and friends – Bring some of them with you.
Our main goal is to bring back the fun and increase membership.
I want to thank Past Potentate Loy Rice for all his hard work this past year. I have big shoes to fill and
with the help of the Nobility I hope to be successful.
Yours in the Faith

MOTOR PATROL RECEIVES HONOR
AT CHRISTMAS PARTY
The Tebala Motor Patrol Christmas party was held
at the Moose Lodge in Zion Illinois on Saturday December 13, 2014. The m.c. for the evening was the
2014 Director of the Motor Patrol Mike Hoeth.
Again this year, the Moose staff did a great job
with a complete steak meal, cooked to order. Ziggy
and I tested all the desserts and decided after he and
I had eaten eight cupcakes, they were the best!
The Chinese’s Raffle had its usual surprises and then some. I was able to steel lottery tickets from our
Chief Rabban-2015 Potentate Larry Keyser and won money. I won’t say he was too upset about that, but
when he got up to pull another ticket, he asked Ziggy, who was sitting next to me, would he like to be the
2015 Chief Aid? (LOL)
The ladies of the Motor Patrol. What can you say
about them? Each greet everyone coming into the
party with a smile and a hug and some nice words.
They are a great group of ladies. Speaking of the
ladies, they make each year, by hand, beautiful
miniature Christmas trees which some go to the
hospital. Two were raffled off at the party this
year. A great addition to the party and a great example why the SHRINER LADIES need to be included in all our clubs and units. Great job ladies!!
Speaking of Chief Rabbans. Chief Rabban Larry Keyser assisted by P.P. Bill Robertson swore in the new
officers for 2015 who are President “ZIGGY”, V.P. Austin Kelly, Secretary Brian Wilber, Treasurer Mike
Patterson. Director for 2015 appointed by the Potentate, Mike Hoeth.
The highlight of the evening was the “Honor” bestowed on the Tebala Motor Patrol by past Director Bill
Dowden. Bill was the ‘original’ director of the motor patrol. Bill served from 1962 to 1975 as the Motor
Patrol Director.
Bill along with his lady, presented to the present Motor Patrol Director Mike Hoeth, his “DIRETOR EMERTIUS FEZ” as a keep sake to the Tebala Motor Patrol. Pictured is the 2014-15 Director of the Tebala
Motor Patrol Mike Hoeth, Director Bill Dowden and President of the Motor Patrol “Ziggy”
This was truly a very high honor for all the members of the Motor Patrol to receive and will be cherished
for many years to come. From all the members of the Motor Patrol and their ladies, a heartfelt thank you to
Bill for his many, many years of support to Tebala and The Tebala Motor Patrol. A very distinguished carrier of service to others.
Respectfully Submitted
Joe Blanchard 2015 Chief Aid

LOVES PARK SHRINE CLUB NEWS…(and random thoughts)
It’s February already—my how time

Eternally Grateful
Benjamin is in the midst of a
long dry spell in Las Vegas. Eventually
he gambles away all his money and has
to borrow a quarter from another gambler just to use the men’s room. He
finds a stall that happens to be open and
pockets the quarter.
Believing that his luck has finally changed, he puts the quarter in a slot
machine and hits the jackpot. He takes
his winning and goes to the blackjack
table and turns his modest winnings into
a million dollars.
Wealthy beyond his wildest
dreams, Benjamin goes on the lecture
circuit, where he tells his incredible story. He tells his audiences that he will be
eternally grateful to his benefactor, and
if he ever finds the man he will share his
fortune with him.
After months of speaking, a man
in the audience jumps up and says, “I’m
that man. I was the one who gave you
the quarter.”

DUES DUES DUES
Want to end that annual bill from TEBALA?
Tebala is excited to offer this program. As technology grows, life is sometimes made simpler for all
of us. AUTOPAY is a great way to get rid of that annual dues notice. With a onetime signature and authorization from you we will automatically charge your card one time a year, every October when we are mailing
dues cards. This will be done manually and securely and doesn’t have that risk of sending card numbers over
the internet.
We have for some time offered Nobles the ability to pay with plastic, but in a way to make it more
convenient for you we can keep track o when your payment is due and make it with your approved credit
card. This is an optional program it is not required that you do this.
Tebala sends in excess of 1,100 dues notices each fall at $0.49 each just for postage not including the
envelope letter printing and administrative cost; then you spend the same to return a payment and we spend it
again to mail your card. The auto pay method for those choosing will have a $2.00 fee for the transaction.
Tebala spends $0.49 to mail your dues card and receipt for the card transaction, that simple. This program has
been very successful in many Temples throughout North America and with your help it will be very successful here.
If you would like to participate in this program, and have not already signed up, please fill out the
form below and return it to the Tebala Temple office.
