environment for group exercise classes;
and Schoeffel Field is a multi-purpose
sports field. Both are adjacent to the
Sports & Fitness Center.
An outdoor Functional Fitness “Fit Box”
area is available adjacent to the Sports &
Fitness Center with a full range of training
equipment. Open 5-7 am, 11 am-1 pm
and 5-7 pm, weather permitting.

Pacific Crest Trail (PCT)
Challenge All day, everyday • FREE
Sign up at the Sports & Fitness Center or
Fitness Annex. Miles must be clocked in
our fitness facilities or fields. How far can
you go? The year-long event continues,
following the 2,663 mile trail up the
California coast. Log every mile you walk,
run, cycle, swim and row at a fitness
center. It’s never too late to join.
PCT Challenge at Walker Pass

Travel with MWR to Walker Pass, a scenic
point of the Pacific Crest Trail close
to NAWS China Lake. Walk the pass,

Aquatics
The Indoor Pool in the Sports &
Fitness Center is closed for renovation,
with an anticipated opening in
November. The Oasis Outdoor Pool
is scheduled for both lap swim and
training until the Indoor Pool reopens,
with group aqua classes beginning in
January. Stay tuned for news of the
Grand Opening ceremony.
The Oasis Outdoor Pool is a
six-lane outdoor pool with water slide,
which will remain open for lap swim and
weekend open swim (while the weather is
warm) until the Indoor Pool reopens.
