Dear Camper and Parents,
We are so excited that you will be joining us for a week at Lutherwood this summer. While our staff
prepares for your arrival, here are a few things you can do to get ready for your week at camp. Please
see back page for “What to Bring” information.
When to Arrive:
Please come for Registration from 3:30-5:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. We will get you checked in,
finalize paperwork and details, and connect you with your counselor for the week. Please DO NOT
arrive early as we are preparing for your stay. The Program Director will be around for questions
you may have about your camper’s stay here. Please feel free to find her and ask anything you may
like to know. There are no dumb questions!
When to Depart:
On Friday afternoon, the campers and counselors will participate in a closing celebration in which we
share the highlights of the week though skits, songs, and stories. The program begins at 12:30 and is
immediately followed by a free-will offering BBQ lunch. The festivities usually end around 1:30pm. Bring
the whole family to join in on the fun! Please bring a photo ID to sign your camper out. We want to
make sure that your camper is going home with the guardian that was pre-designated at registration.
*Embers pick up is Tuesday at 4 PM.*
*CIT is a 2 week program in which the campers will stay on-site for the weekend and be picked up the
following Friday.*

Communication with your camper while he/she is away can be fun! Here are a few ways to stay in
touch.

Please note that campers will not have access to email; emails will be distributed in print. If your
camper would like to send mail back to you, please send them with pre-addressed and stamped
envelopes.

Take I-5 South to Exit #246 (N. Lake Samish)
Turn left at the top of the Exit
Follow N. Lake Samish (stay to the right at the fork)
Cross the bridge and stay to the right onto Roy Rd.

Bible
Sleeping bag and pillow
Soap and personal toiletries (don’t forget your toothbrush!)
2-3 towels (Bring extra for H2O campers)
Water bottle
Sunscreen (including face protection)
Clothes for 1 week (undies and socks, too!) Shorts may not be shorter than the camper's
fingertips.
Warm jacket (it gets cool at night)
Raincoat
Plastic bag for wet clothes
Flashlight and batteries
Swimsuit (girls are expected to wear one-pieces)
One pair of tennis shoes
Optional items:
Insect repellent
Sunglasses
Snacks for free time that will be kept in the canteen
Flip-flops/sandals for showers and at the Waterfront
**What to Leave at Home**:
• MP3/CD players/radios
• Cash
• Video games
• Drugs/alcohol/tobacco
• Cell phones
• Guns/knives/weapons
• Any other electronics
Parents, we ask for your help with these items as they can quickly distract from the camp community. Items
found in the possession of a camper will be confiscated and returned at the end of the week.
Canteen
We have three canteen packages available online, as well as for sale on Sundays during registration. Canteen
Package A includes choice of candy and pop each day, Canteen Package B includes candy/pop and choice of a
Lutherwood t-shirt, and Canteen Package B includes candy/pop and choice of a Lutherwood sweatshirt.
Additional spending money is unnecessary for campers. The Canteen is also open on Friday afternoon when you
pick up your camper.
