PARADIP PORT TRUST NOTIFICATION Dated:29.06.2016 Paradip Port is one of the India’s twelve Major Ports, the main out-let and inlet for the sea-borne trade on the eastern part of the country. 3rd The foundation stone of the Port was laid by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on the January, 1962. Paradip Port (PPT) is located at Latitude 200 15’ 55.44’’ N and Longitude 860 40’ 34.62’’ E and situated at a distance of 210 nautical miles from Kolkata and 260 nautical miles from Visakhapatnam-the other two major Ports in the eastern region of the country. The Paradip Port is well connected by National NH-5A. The Paradip Port land area spreads in 6,285.54 acres and being used for various port related activities. OBJECTIVE OF LAND USE PLAN The land use planning aims towards strategic land use pattern in line with the Business Plan and other proposed development plan in near future, which is being considered for implementation by Paradip Port Trust (PPT). It is needless to state that planning of land use in ports is a continuous process, and its neglect leads to serious consequence for ports. Available land within the port boundary being a scare commodity, it is essential to have proper planning, management and redevelopment of the same on a periodical manner, considering the present and proposed future developments. The land use plan has already been approved by Board of Trustee on dtd.17.12.2014 vide resolution No.14(03)/2014-15.
