Online experiences can be both time saving and rewarding in areas such as online shopping, bill paying, or searching for
that so-called soul mate! Good luck on that last one! We are VERY happy to announce that you can now add viewing
this widely entertaining newsletter to your online experiences. “In Step at Perry’s” monthly issues were recently added to
the Perry’s Restaurant web site at www.perrysrestaurant.com and can be found smack dab on the home page. Beginning
with the June issue, Jack will no longer be attaching the monthly newsletter via his regular email distribution but will
include a reminder about accessing the newsletter directly from the web site. For those hand dancers who are not
“hooked up,” computer wise, that is…not to worry, a limited number of hard copies will still be made available for those
individuals (see Jack or myself at Perry’s). SPECIAL THANKS to Proprietor, Kristos Miliotis, for collaborating with us to
make this happen.
Observe This! ~ How many TV monitors are located in the main lounge of Perry’s where the
hand dancers hang out (BIG TIP ~ total number includes screens displaying keno games)? The
individual who contacts Jack first with the correct answer will receive $15 off their next meal(s) or bar
tab at Perry’s (no cash substitutes; must be applied towards Perry’s dining/beverage tab). You may
contact Jack via phone (410-987-1119) or email ([email protected]). Who else but a special guy like
Kristos would offer such an appetizing incentive!
Celebrate, Celebrate, Dance to the Music ~ Sound familiar? Well, for those of us baby boomers who remember
the music group, Three Dog Night, those words are part of the lyrics to one of their more popular songs. Birthday ladies,
Peggy Morgan and Joan Rurka did exactly that at Perry’s during the month of April ~~ CELEBRATE and DANCE to
some good ol’ hand dance music. Mark your calendars for our next birthday celebration in May! One of Perry’s regular
th
hand dancers, Joanne Sinclair, will be celebrating her birthday at Perry’s on May 15 so drop by, have a piece of cake,
and for you gents ~ line up and dance with the birthday girl!
Getting Acquainted ~ One visit to Perry’s and you’re bound to return for multiple reasons. No, I’m not a food
critic who gets paid to taste the cuisine and rate the establishment (although you won’t be disappointed with your dining
experience!). I’m just one of many who have chosen to dine, socialize, and dance in a place where you’re not only
greeted by fellow hand dancers but by Perry’s staff on a first name basis once they get to know your name. This month’s
issue features photos of several more of Perry’s staff. They include Mike Miliotis, Jason, Karen (again!) and Francois
(accompanied by your editor). Also, just in time for spring and summer, latest renovations at Perry’s include a “roof
covered” outdoor patio.
Presidential Pay Off ~~ Primary locations to visit or research the answer to last month’s
question were either at local Post Offices or via online searches. Well, leave it to our very own Susie
Kees (you know, the Mop Lady!) who did neither. The minute she read last month’s newsletter she
automatically knew the answer to the question “What President appeared on the 5-cent stamp?”
George Washington was the correct answer and thanks to good ol‘ George, Susie was the happy
recipient of a complimentary hand dance CD from Jack.
Visiting DJ’s ~~ Special thanks to DJ’s Ron and Kathy Carroll and DJ Buddy Mastin, a.k.a., Buddman for
pinch-hitting at Perry’s while Jack was recuperating from surgery to correct a blocked artery. I’m happy to report that
th
Jack’s surgery went well and he’ll be back at Perry’s on May 8 spinning his CD’s. Jack & Evelyn both wished to convey
their appreciation for the many well wishes received after Jack’s surgery.
Have something to share for an upcoming issue? Please drop me a line at [email protected] & add the words
“Perry’s Tidbits” in the subject line. Until next time, I leave you with this quote from Lois Hurst:
“Dance for yourself, if someone understands good. If not, then no matter what, go right on
doing what you love.”
