The Spirit comes to conform us to the very life of God, to make us like him, so that we can live forever in the
love of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit: “So we know and believe the love God has for us. God is love, and he
who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him” (1 Jn4:16).
Come and feel the presence of the living Lord that renews our heart to know God’s love and to live a holy life,

Table of Blessings
Meal Ministry
As part of our Pro Life Ministry, we must always endeavor to
minister to the needs of our sick and elderly friends. There are
many families within our community who are caring for loved
ones who are in the late to final stages of life. Although it is a
difficult and overwhelming task, it is also a great blessing to be
able to spend those final precious moments with that special
person. We often feel helpless in knowing what we can do to
help our friends during such difficult times. In addition to our
compassion and prayers, we can also offer practical and immediate help. This is where our St. Linus family comes in! With
the blessing of our Pastor, we are gathering a list of friends
who would be willing to provide a hot meal for a family facing
this challenge. If you would like more information or to sign
up to be a part of this beautiful and loving ministry, please contact Mary Ratanasurakarn at (951)500-0787 or send an email to
the address below. Thank You!
A Pro Life Rosary for the Unborn

Information Table after all Masses
Aug 22nd & 23rd
We will be hosting an information table outside the main entrance of the church by the fountain. Please stop by and pick up
some Pro Life information and find out what our ministry is
about. Our goal is to have representatives from all parish
groups and organizations become involved in this life affirming
ministry. We have fetal models so you can touch and see the
actual size of a preborn baby in its first 2 trimesters of life inside the womb. We will also have prizes for the children who
visits our table.

TWENTIETH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Hello my name is
Rosalinda Aquino.
I live here in Norwalk
and I have been going
to this church for about
7 years and in that time
I have completed my
First Communion, went
on retreat and have
completed my first year
of confirmation. I am
now in phase 2 of Confirmation.
I go to La Mirada High
School and I am an active member of the marching band and color guard
unit and I plan to stay as a member all throughout
high school. After my freshman year I was invited
to join the Matador Scholar Association and now
as a sophomore I plan to join.
I have entered this friendly competition the church
has offered me to participate in because this is a
fun way to raise money for our parish and I also
want to give back to our community since it has
given me so much! Thank you.
Hello my name is
Sergio Aquino.
I am 16 years old
and in the 11th grade
at La Mirada High
School. I am a
member of the
marching band and
color guard and I
also play the trombone.
My hobbies include
playing soccer and
reading. I plan on
being a music
teacher. I’ve been
attending St. Linus with my family since I was 9
years old, I’ve completed both Phase 1 and Phase 2
Confirmation and I’ve been to two retreats so far.
I plan on going to more because of how it feels
there. I want to be in this competition of Fiesta
King for the experience, the fun to be had, and plus
I will raise funds for our church.
Thank you, please vote for me!
My name is Kyle
Santos and I recently
graduated from St.
Linus School with
honors. Now I am
going to be an incoming freshman at
La Mirada High
School and will be
joining their water
polo team.
St. Linus has always
been a second home
to me since I moved
from Los Angeles.
I have been serving my community by reading,
ushering and altar serving at Sunday masses here
at St. Linus. I also volunteer at the hospital during
the Summer.
I’ve decided to run for Fiesta king this Oktoberfest
because I would want to give back and help more
by raising funds for our parish.
I hope I could be a great role model to other,
Hello my name is
Karmyn Yocky, I am
13 years old and I
live in Norwalk, CA.
I have attended St.
Linus School since
Pre-K.
I have two younger
siblings that attended
St. Linus as well. I
have participated in
the school plays, and
I have played volleyball for the past 4
years. I have been an
honor student since
5th grade. I’ve also
ran for student council as well for the past two
years.
I am proud of my school and church that is why I
am running for Fiesta Queen. Being queen would
mean a lot to me because I would be able to give
back to my church and school.
I look forward to getting to know each and every
one of you!
especially to young children.
VIGÉSIMO DOMINGO DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO
Hello and a great blessed day
to everyone, my name is Dannica Christine Paguia Mallari.
I am 14 years old and I am an
incoming freshman attending
La Mirada High School. I am
an active parishioner here at
Saint Linus Catholic Church. I
am an active altar server for
the 5:30 pm Saturday, 9:00 am
Sunday, 5:30pm Sunday, and
any other masses my family
and I attend. I help Dennis
Adame and my brother, Marc Mallari, train new altar
servers to help out during at the 9:00am Sunday Mass.
I started altar serving with my brother in the 3rd grade
thanks to Sister Joseph Ann. I also used to be a part of
the 10:30am Children’s choir with Mr. Salude when I
was in the 3rd grade. Recently, I’ve been helping my
brother out at the Religious Gift Shop for the 5:30pm
Sunday Mass. I’ve joined the confirmation program so
in two years I would receive my sacrament of Confirmation here at Saint Linus.
I am running for Queen for this year’s fiesta because
the Golden Age Club and the Saint Linus Knights of
Columbus Counsel asked me to run for Queen so they
would sponsor me if I run for Queen. Also, I am doing
this because this would be a magnificent opportunity to
give back to the people since our church has given tons
of blessings to my family and me. Another reason why
I am volunteering to run for Queen is so I can follow
the footsteps of my brother as he also ran for Fiesta
King in the past.
Ever since the 1st grade I’ve been receiving the award
for Principal’s Honor Roll, back when I was in Elementary School. Because of that, it has guided me to
take Honor classes and Pre-AP classes in La Mirada
High School. Throughout my Middle School years,
I’ve taken all honors and I also did Academic Pentathlon and join the Color Guard Team for fun.
Since, I am an incoming Freshmen going to La Mirada
High School, I’ve been running with the Cross Country
team just to stay in shape and work out with my brother just to get prepared for track here in La Mirada. For
this summer I’ve joined a summer program called the
Filipino Cultural School or the FCS thanks to a good
friend of mine, Ellie, who helped me attend that program. So please vote for me Dannica Mallari as your
fiesta Queen and I wish everyone a blessed morning/
afternoon/evening.
Thank you very much. Have a blessed day!

TWENTIETH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
My name is Isabelle
Cruz. I am currently a
junior at Cerritos High
School. I attend St. Linus
from Pre K to the 4th
grade where I was a part
of the choir. This is my
second phase of the confirmation process at St
Linus. I am very happy
to further my sacraments
of the Catholic faith.
I am a company dancer and teacher at And Dance
Studio in Norwalk. I participate in 4-5 dance competitions each year and my team holds award winning performances. Since I am a dance teacher and
one of the older performers at the studio, I strive to
be a positive role model for the younger girls as
they look up to me and watch what I do. I also
need to show maturity and build a strong rapport
with the parents.
In the 9th grade I was on the Cerritos Dance Drill
Team and represented my school well.
My hobbies include videography, photography,
dancing and choreography. I also enjoy spending
time with my dance students and their parents.
Both my parents are fellow alumni at St. Linus as
well as my aunts. My grandma was a substitute
teacher and worked at the church rectory. Both my
mom and grandma were CCD Teachers for many
years.
It excites me to be part of the King and Queen
court for St. Linus. This gives me the opportunity
to be further involved with my church and community. It will give me great honor to be Queen.
My name is Alyssa
Arizaga and I running
for the 2015 St. Linus
Fiesta Queen contest. I
have attended St. Linus
School since the 1st
grade and graduated
this past June. I have
been actively involved
in volleyball and
basketball at St. Linus
School for many years
and will continue to
play volleyball at St. Joseph High School where I
will attend in the Fall. This year I was the
recipient of the St. Linus Girls’ Athletic
Scholarship for which I am very grateful and
proud. When I am not at school or playing
volleyball, I volunteer in a program that provides
therapeutic horseback riding for people with
disabilities. I have a passion for helping others and
a love for animals which makes volunteering in
this program extremely rewarding to me.
I have been a part of the St. Linus community all
of my life and I am honored to have the opportunity to be a candidate for the Fiesta Queen. I am
truly blessed to be part of such a wonderful parish
and school community. I would be honored to
represent St. Linus as the 2015 Fiesta Queen.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know a
little bit about me, Alyssa Arizaga.
Hello,
My name is Joshua Kieran Sunga Umeda, I’m fifteen
years old and I have been an active parishioner here
almost all of my life. I am currently a Sophomore at La
Mirada High School where I am involved in Color
Guard and Chamber Choir. I also actively participate in
St. Linus Youth Ministry and in the future would love to
encourage other teens to participate more in our parish
activities and/or ministries. I have had the opportunity to
participate in a few events this past year such as One
Life event in Los Angeles, the Whittier Walk for Life
and our own St. Linus Walk for Life. I would love to
help fulfill Fr. Tony’s desire to give our hall a new
facelift. I hope to get your support and vote. Thank you
very much for your time and God bless!
Thank You.
