Dave Tobin, C.Ss.R. The Parish Mission will be Monday- Tuesday- Wednesday March 14, 15 and 16, 2011. 7-9pm There will be a penance service on Wednesday night. Come and bring three friends with you! We need help in the following areas: Hospitality- providing refreshments/ushering/greeting Babysitting – Childcare for young children Promotion and Publicity- help get the word out so our church will be full. LINUS CATHOLIC CHURCH 13915 Shoemaker Avenue, Norwalk, CA 90650 MONDAY, February 21, 2011 7:30 PM MASS Fr. Joshua Lee Fr. Joshua is the Pastor of St. Hilary’s Church in Whittier, CA. He is a charismatic priest and a gifted preacher. He was a nurse by profession when he received the call to enter the priesthood; responding to the Spirit’s call, he became a Benedictine monk at St. Andrews Abbey for several years prior to taking on duties as a pastoral priest with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Fr. Joshua is a dynamic and well sought speaker at the annual SCRC Charismatic Convention; he is also a spiritual director and a retreat master. Last July 2002, the Lord effected the healing of a cancer patient at St. Irenaeus Church’s healing mass services through the ministration of Fr. Joshua. Come with your family and friends and experience the anointing healing power of the Holy Spirit. FR. HUY’S FAITH FORMATION SERIES Fr. The Church of the Pater Noster (Latin for “Our Father”) is a partially reconstructed Roman Catholic church located on the Mount of Olives, in Jerusalem. It stands on the traditional site of Christ's teaching of the Lord's Prayer, and contains plaques that bear the prayer in over 80 different languages, including Aramaic, Dutch, Tagalog, Pampango, and Ojibway. GOLDEN AGE CLUB: The regular monthly meeting will be this Sunday Feb. 13th in Room 10, with sign in at 1:30 p.m. Planning of future activities and trips will be taking place. Come and join us. See you there. Whittier Life Center Save the Date… Saturday, March 12th. Whittier Life Center is sponsoring its 15th annual Walk for Life at St. Bruno’s at 9 a.m. in Whittier. Collect at least $30 in sponsorships (which goes toward your $30.00 registration fee) and get a FREE Walk for Life T-shirt at the registration booth at 8a.m. Raffle and $5.00 barbeque hamburgers will follow Walk. Many parishioners make this Walk as a Lenten penance for the unborn aborted babies and to show the community of Whittier that life is a precious gift from God. The St. Linus School Girls’ Varsity Basketball team has worked all season to earn the title of league champions. Their hard work and long hours of practice also secured them a spot in the playoffs. St. Linus Students will participate in the Academic Decathlon This year’s Junior High Academic Decathlon will be held at the Los Angeles Sports Arena on Saturday, March 5th.
