Though safety inside school is ultimately the responsibility of the principal and school staff, parents can take a few basic steps to ensure a safe school experience.” Talk with your child about safety. Be specific. Talk about instinct and paying attention to funny feelings of fear. Explain what to do if she doesn't feel safe (find a teacher, call 911, etc.). Make sure she knows how to contact you or a trusted neighbor who is likely to be at home. For more information, please visit http://www.scholastic.com/parents/resources/article/parent-teacher-partnerships/6-rules-school-safety ¿SABIA USTED? We look forward to our new year in Youth Ministry! This program is very simple: when you buy participating products with Box Tops Labels on them, cut out the Box Tops, turn them in to the school and the school earns money! This is yet another, very simple way to help our school. Adopt-A-Student Thank you parishioners who have contributed generously and faithfully to the Adopt-A-Student program. Your monthly donations have helped some of our families in need. Remember, your donation is tax-deductible. May God continue to bless you! SCRIP available in the school office! SCRIP is available for purchase in our school office Monday through Friday from 9am – 2pm. Remember to purchase SCRIP gift cards to use for gifts, grocery shopping, gas, and restaurants. Proceeds from your purchases greatly benefit our school. If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact our office at (562) 921-0336. SCRIP order forms are also available in the school office for your convenience. Your Shopping Benefits Our School –Please Save Your Receipts!! The School Cents Program is a partnership program with our three local area malls (Cerritos Mall, Stonewood Center, and Lakewood Center) where our school earns points every time you shop. All you have to do is save your receipts from any purchases made at these shopping centers and our school receives points for each dollar spent at the stores, restaurants (yes, even Starbucks!), kiosks/carts, and movie theaters. Please save your receipts and turn them in to the school office or place them in the collection basket Sunday in an envelope marked: St. Linus School. You may also stop by the Guest Services Desk at any of the three malls, show them your receipt, let them know you are supporting St. Linus School, and they will stamp your receipt and hand it right back to you. With Sincere Gratitude, St. Linus School Community Dear Parishioners, Thank you so much for all your continuous support to the parish and to me. I was so surprised and happy to hear that I had won Fiesta Queen. I truly believe that you all made a huge contribution to this year’s Fiesta. I am so blessed to be a part of the St. Linus community. Once again, thank you for your support. May God bless you all! Sincerely, Adriana Perera PAGE TEN THIRTIETH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME This Week at St. Linus...
