Die PREMIUM ORDER DÜSSELDORF bespielt diese Saison erstmalig die
Alte Papierfabrik mit 3.000 qm im Hafen von Düsseldorf. Erbaut im Jahr
1911, besticht die Alte Papierfabrik durch ihre riesigen Hallen, endlos hohen
Wände, Beton, Metall, Ziegelmauern, stillgelegten Bahngleise und den
ultima­tiven Blick auf das Hafenbecken. Mit dem Umzug folgt nun auch die
PREMIUM ORDER Düsseldorf in eine Location mit industriellem Charme.
Die Alte Papierfabrik hat aber nicht nur Atmosphäre, sondern bietet vor
allem logistische Vorteile: einfache An- und Abfahrt bis direkt vor die Halle,
ausreichend Parkmöglichkeiten und die Nähe zu den Showrooms im Hafen.
Der Mercedes-Benz Shuttle Service, den die PREMIUM auch zu den Orderveranstaltungen zur Verfügung stellt, erleichtert den Händlern den Besuch
aller relevanten Locations in Düsseldorf.
PREMIUM ORDER Duesseldorf will take place this season for the first
time at the Old Paper Factory with its 3,000 square meters in the harbor of
Duesseldorf. Built in the year 1911, the Old Paper Factory is an impressive
structure with its enormous halls, endlessly high ceilings, concrete, metal,
brick walls, abandoned train tracks and the ultimate view of the Harbor. With
this move, PREMIUM ORDER Duesseldorf now follows to a location with
industrial atmos­phere. The Old Paper Factory not only exudes charm, but,
above all, also offers logistical advantages: easy access and departure right
up to the front of the hall, ample parking opportunities and proximity to the
showrooms in the harbor. The Mercedes-Benz Shuttle Service, which
­PREMIUM also provides for their order events, makes it easier for retailers to
visit all of the relevant locations in Duesseldorf.

Fast schon ganz selbstverständlich: Zwei Mal im Jahr, Ende Januar und Anfang
Juli, pilgert die internationale Modewelt nach Berlin. Parallel zu den LaufstegSchauen der Fashion Week am Brandenburger Tor lockt die ­PREMIUM-Messe
inzwischen über achthundert Marken und knapp sechzigtausend Fachbe­
sucher in die Station-Berlin am Gleisdreieck. Mit einem T­ermin noch vor den

Modenschauen in Paris oder New York hat sich Berlin innerhalb weniger Jahre
als internationaler Trendsetter etabliert. Hier kann man die neuen Kollektionen
sehen, noch bevor sie anderswo gezeigt ­werden.
Und man kann sie ordern. Was eigentlich logisch klingt, ist in Wahrheit eine
kleine Revolution, denn üblicherweise liegen Modenschauen und Ordermessen zu unterschiedlichen Terminen, die nochmal in Herren, Damen,
Sportswear und Accessoires aufgeteilt sind. Einkäufer müssen also ständig
den Kollektionen hinterherreisen, Berlin hingegen bietet alles unter einem
Dach.
Dass diese Idee nicht funktionieren könne, glaubten viele, als Anita und
­Norbert Tillmann ihr Konzept für eine neue Modemesse entwickelten. Schließlich waren alle Versuche, das Mode-Business in Berlin wiederzubeleben, seit
den Achtziger Jahren kläglich gescheitert. Berlin hatte Kreativität und Lifestyle
zu bieten, die Geschäfte wurden in Düsseldorf und München gemacht. Von
daher ist es vielleicht der größte Erfolg der PREMIUM-Macher, dass es ihnen
gelungen ist, das Potential der Stadt zu erkennen und eine Plattform zu schaffen, die Kreativität, Emotionalität und Professionalität vereint.
Von daher war nur konsequent, dass auch das Konzept für die Berliner
Fashion Week aus der Feder der PREMIUM-Macher stammt. Als sie 2005 auf
der New Yorker Fashion Week, die von der IMG veranstaltet wird, von ihrer
Idee erzählten, hatte das Folgen. Zwei Jahre später veranstaltete IMG in
Berlin die erste Fashion Week, beraten von den Tillmanns.
Dass sie eine Vision haben, wird ziemlich rasch klar, wenn man die Macher
der PREMIUM persönlich trifft. Das Einzige was Anita Tillmann und Norbert
Tillmann auf den ersten Blick gemeinsam haben, ist ihr Nachname und das
übrigens rein zufällig. Die agile Anita, die ständig vor Ideen übersprudelt
und nie stillsitzt und der stets gelassene blonde Norbert sind ein ideales
Business-Paar. Bei der PREMIUM kümmert sich Anita um Kommunikation
und Strategie, Norbert um Finanzen und Geschäftsführung.
„Wir sind wie Soft- und Hardware, aber Entscheidungen treffen wir gemeinsam“, sagt Anita Tillmann, „außerdem sind wir beide nicht die typischen
Messebetreiber.“
Das mit Sicherheit nicht. Normale Messebetreiber verkaufen Quadratmeter,
die PREMIUM-Macher eine Idee. Gemeinsam ist ihnen neben der Begeisterung für Mode ein gesundes Selbstbewusstsein und die Überzeugung, das
Richtige zu tun.
„Die PREMIUM ist nicht Masse, sondern Perfektion,“ sagt Nobert Tillmann.
Dazu gehört, dass die Aussteller jede Saison passend zum Profil der Messe
neu kuratiert werden, die Mischung macht die PREMIUM so einzigartig.
Stars der Branche präsentieren sich hier neben jungen Labels, Accessoires
neben Denims, progressive Sportswear neben klassischen Herren­
kollektionen. Unter diesem Aspekt betreiben Sie auch ihren Fashion Store
F95. Auch für Nachwuchsförderung setzen sich die PREMIUM-Macher ein.
Seit 2005 wird der PREMIUM Young Designers Award verliehen, der sich für
die ­Gewinner direkt auf den Erfolg des Labels auswirkt.
Über den Bereich der Mode hinaus entwickelt das PREMIUM-Team heute
neue Veranstaltungsideen und Messekonzepte. Die „Berliner Fahrrad
Schau“ zeigt nicht nur Räder sondern beschäftigt sich mit Konzepten intelligenter Mobilität, und die „next conference“ gilt als einer der wichtigsten
Zukunftskongresse für digitale Trends in Europa.
Einer der Gründe für den Erfolg des Unternehmens PREMIUM liegt sicher in
der Persönlichkeit ihrer Macher. Dass Anita und Norbert Tillmann keine
Angst haben, in grossen Dimensionen zu denken und sie auch das Risiko
nicht scheuen, zeigten sie, als sie 2007 den ehemaligen Dresdner Bahnhof
kauften, einst der größte Paketumschlagplatz Berlins. Die riesigen Hallen
am Gleisdreieck und in unmittelbarer Nähe des Potsdamer Platzes haben
sich heute als Veranstaltungsort für Messen, Galas und Kongresse etabliert.

in Berlin had failed miserably. Berlin offered creativity and lifestyle, business
was done in Duesseldorf and Munich. Thus, perhaps the biggest achievement of the PREMIUM makers was that they managed to recognize the
­potential of the city and to create a platform that unites creativity, ­emotionality
and professionalism.
Hence, it only followed that the concept for Berlin Fashion Week would also
come from the makers of PREMIUM. When, in 2005, they first talked about
their idea at the IMG organized New York Fashion Week, it had ­consequences.
Two years later, IMG produced the first Fashion Week in Berlin, advised by
the Tillmanns.
The fact that they have a vision becomes immediately clear upon meeting
the makers of PREMIUM in person. At first sight, the only thing that Anita
Tillmann and Norbert Tillmann have in common is their last name, which, by
the way, is purely coincidental. The animated Anita, constantly bubbling over
with ideas and never sitting still, and the invariably easy-going, blondehaired Norbert are the ideal business pair. At PREMIUM, Anita takes care of
communications and strategy, Norbert the finances and management.
“We’re like software and hardware, but we make decisions together”, says
Anita Tillmann, “besides, we’re both not typical trade fair organizers.”
Certainly not. Conventional trade show operators sell square meters; the
PREMIUM makers sell an idea. What they share, besides their enthusiasm for
fashion, is a healthy self-confidence and the conviction that they are doing
the right thing.
“PREMIUM is not about mass, but perfection”, says Norbert Tillmann. This
requires curating the exhibitors anew each season to match the profile of the
fair, and it’s what makes the PREMIUM mix so unique. Stars of the industry
are presented alongside young labels, accessories alongside denims,
­progressive sportswear alongside classic men’s collections. That’s also how
they run their Fashion Store F95. The PREMIUM makers also promote young
­talent. Since 2005, the PREMIUM YOUNG DESIGNERS AWARD is presented,
which, for the winners, has a direct influence on the success of the label.
Today, beyond the field of fashion, the PREMIUM team is developing new
ideas for events and trade fair concepts. The “Berliner Bicycle Show” not only
shows bicycles, but also focuses on concepts of intelligent mobility, and the
“next conference” is regarded as one of the most important future conventions for digital trends in Europe.
One of the reasons for the success of the PREMIUM enterprise certainly lies
in the personalities of its makers. Anita and Norbert Tillmann demonstrated
that they are not afraid to think big, and that they also don’t shy away from
risk, when they bought the former Dresden train station in 2007, once one of
the largest postal freight depots in Berlin. The enormous halls at Gleisdreieck
in the immediate vicinity of Potsdamer Platz have established themselves
today as event locations for trade fairs, galas and conventions.
To really put ideas into action, doesn’t just call for unconventional thinkers,
but unconventional doers.

In ihrer elften Saison legt die PREMIUM ORDER MÜNCHEN weiter zu und
vergrößert die Gesamtfläche auf dem Zenith Gelände auf insgesamt knapp
10.000 qm. Neben der Zenith Halle und dem benachbarten Kesselhaus,
werden diese Saison zusätzliche Flächen im Zenith Zelt und im Georg-ElserHaus bespielt. In Punkto Charme überzeugen die Flächen des Zenith
­Geländes mit hohen Decken, Stahlträgern und Betonböden, gepaart – zum
­Beispiel im Kesselhaus – mit Teilen der alten Kesselanlage und modernen
Deckenleuchtern. Auch hier verbindet der Mercedes-Benz Shuttle Service
die PREMIUM ORDER MÜNCHEN mit relevanten Locations in München.
Now in its eleventh season, PREMIUM ORDER MUNICH moves up another
gear and expands the total area at the Zenith grounds to approximately
10,000 square meters. This season, besides the Zenith Hall and the neighboring Kesselhaus, additional areas will be brought into play at the Zenith
Tent and the Georg-Elser-House. When it comes to charm, the areas on the
Zenith grounds score high points with their high ceilings, steel girders and
cement flooring – in the Boiler House, for example – coupled with parts of the
old boiler plant and modern overhead lighting. Here, too, the MercedesBenz shuttle service connects PREMIUM ORDER MUNICH with relevant
­locations in Munich.
