SACRAMENTS OF EASTER
It is quite obvious to all who have assembled at
one of our liturgies during this past week that the
Easter Season has arrived in its entire splendor.
The aura of the liturgy has taken on a NEW LIFE
quality. The beauty of the décor, the magnificence
of the music and the richness of the celebrations
speak loudly to all who gather that the Lord Jesus
who died on the cross is now ALIVE in our midst!
These fifty days of the Easter Season will be
filled with the celebration of the Sacraments of
Initiation: Baptism being celebrated each Sunday,
the Group First Eucharist celebrated in two weeks
and the Sacrament of Confirmation on June 2nd.
The Easter Season will end on Pentecost Sunday
on May 24th, with the Solemnities of “The Most
Holy Trinity” and “The Most Holy Body And
Blood of Christ” to follow on subsequent Sundays.
We invite all parishioners to mark all of these days
on their personal calendars as “red letter days of
parish liturgical life.”
SUNDAY OF DIVINE MERCY
Today, the first Sunday after Easter, is celebrated
as the Sunday of Divine Mercy throughout the entire
world. The accent is on the forgiveness extended by
our divine Father to each of us.
HOUR OF MERCY: TODAY
3:00 P.M. IN OUR CHURCH
All are invited to participate in this special
devotion for the purpose of spreading the message of
mercy throughout the entire world. This is the very
heart of EVANGELIZATION in the name of Jesus!
CEMETERY BEAUTIFICATION
The Maintenance Staff of our Parish Family takes
great pride in maintaining the natural beauty of our
cemetery. Regulations are posted throughout the
cemetery and given to those who possess a deed that
“only live flowers are permitted” within 12 inches of
the grave memorial. As we get ready for the many
visitors of the Memorial weekend, all other shrubs,
statues and glassware will be removed and kept in
storage for those who wish to retrieve them. We ask
all visitors to help us maintain the beauty of our
cemetery by adhering to the regulations posted!
“EXTENDED STAFF” APPRECIATION
On the first Sunday after Easter each year, we
wish to recognize all those persons who serve so
faithfully on our “Extended Staff” (a designation we
have created to indicate those persons, outside of the
ten members of the Parish Staff, who receive
compensation from our Parish Family). The names
of those FORTY THREE persons are listed on the
final page of this bulletin. The multi-faceted talents
and uncompromising dedication these people bring
to our church and school allows our Parish Family to
serve the needs of all parishioners. We thank those
in the Parish Family whose consistent financial
support help us to maintain such a needed group of
personnel.
FISH DINNER REPORT
Were you one of the many volunteers who
helped to make our Fish Dinners so successful?
Please join us on Tuesday of this week, April 14th at
6:00 p.m. in Marian Hall for a final report. A
delicious meal will be on hand for those who have
sent in their registrations for this evening. Ginny and
Paul Penezic, the chairpersons of the dinners, will be
on hand to receive the ideas and suggestions of those
who worked so hard at these six Lenten dinners as
we look to future possibilities.
PARISH SHARE CONTRIBUTIONS
We
remind
parishioners
of
their
responsibility to contribute to the Parish Share
Program. Those who have made a pledge are asked
to be faithful in their monthly contributions; while
those who have not done so as of yet are encouraged
to do as soon as possible. One-time contributors
may simply place their contribution in a white
envelope and mark it accordingly. Place that
envelope in the Sunday collection, or send it through
the mail to the church. Once we achieve our
assessment goal, the excess monies remain in the
account of our Parish Family.
FESTIVAL FLASHES …
Mark your calendars for June 25 – 26 – 27!
Raffle tickets will be going out soon with the
hope that every family will sell at least one
book of 20 tickets … make returns in a marked envelope at
any time … new prizes have been acquired for the new
games that have chosen for this year’s new games …
volunteers are now being sought to help in the many new
booths … sponsors are welcome!

A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE by Bud Ozar
In today’s gospel Jesus teaches, “ Blessed are those who have
not seen and believe.” Accepting someone as they are, without
demanding they prove themselves or meet our expectations,
creates a rich relationship. Without acceptance a home is only
a house and a family is just a group of house mates.

Faith Sharing for Divine Mercy Sunday
Jesus says “Peace be with YOU.” The peace the world cannot
give is a gift from God through Jesus. He revealed to Saint
Faustina that “ANYONE who prays the rosary of mercy will
receive great Mercy at the hour of death.” Find copies of the
Novena to Divine Mercy and the Chaplet on the pamphlet shelf
in our church. Join with a friend or family to spend the Hour of
Mercy , TODAY, at 3:00 p.m. in our church.

Special Days this Easter Season Week
April 12 - Divine Mercy Sunday was so named by Pope John
Paul April 30, 2000 when he canonized Saint Faustina, to
whom Jesus appeared requesting that his image with rays of
mercy be promoted and prayers offered for mercy for all
peoples.
April 13 – Saint Martin I became Pope in 649 and opposed
the heretics who claimed that Jesus had only a divine nature. He
was persecuted, stripped of his papal robes and sent into exile.
He refused to become bitter, but trusted God even when he felt
abandoned.
April 16 – Saint Benedict Joseph Labre realized that he could
find God anywhere and often dressed as a beggar and slept on
the ground. Many regarded him a “saint” even before his death.
April 17 – Saint Kateri Tekakwitha’s death anniversary.

ASSUMPTION MAUSOLEUM
We remind all those who would like to purchase a crypt or niche in
the mausoleum that will be built in our cemetery that the
pre-construction discount prices have now gone up. However,
there is still a great discount for those who purchase their crypt or
niche during these construction days. Not only can the purchaser
receive a tremendous discount at this time, but also the choice of
spaces in the mausoleum is still very open. As more and more
people make their choices, the options become less and less for
those who wait until later. If you are interested in learning more
about the price range, simply call the rectory and an appointment
will be set up for you with one of our salesperson who represent
our Parish Family.

PASTORAL IMPRESSIONS

from Father John
In order for the ten members of our Parish Staff to serve the people of our Parish Family, it is imperative
that we have a supportive cast of parish personnel. This magnificently generous group of people who serve on
our EXTENDED STAFF are highly talented and could easily get better compensating work in the public
sector. However, their relationship to the Lord Jesus calls them to serve the People of God in our Parish
Family. In this Easter Season, we wish to recognize each of their gifts to our Parish Family and thank them
wholeheartedly!
