Spartan flame retardant fabric 100% cotton: What makes this garment flame retardant is its compliance with SABS 1423 Part 1: 1987 which calls for the internationally used test method of ISO 6940. The requirements for Flammability Performance Category 1 and Wash Treatment B is that there is no ignition of the fabric within 20 seconds of the flame being held against the fabric and this performance is maintained The finish conforms to the German DIN test 4846 – drops of hydrochloric, sulphuric and nitric acid are placed on the cloth. after five washes at 90°C. The test requires no absorption of these drops after 3 hours for hydrochloric and sulphuric acid and 1 hour for nitric acid. Each batch of our fabric is tested against this standard by applying an open flame to a sample cut off to ensure the fabric meets the appropriate requirement. The finish is permanent and should not lose its effect after multiple washes. However, the washing procedure must include a thorough rinsing to remove any wetting agents followed by a hot ironing to regenerate the finish. 21 Workwear customisation Customisation of garments Alsafe of fers a comprehensive customisation programme that spans simple branding on garments to fully bespoke garments manufactured to your specif ication. Screen printing Branding There are three types of branding offered by Alsafe: •Screen Printing: This process involves printing on the actual garment. Cost is determined by the volume of garments printed, the size of the print and number of colours in the print. A set up charge is incurred for each run and this option is preferable for larger volumes. •Embroidery: This process involves embroidering directly onto the garment. The cost is determined by the stitch count of the embroidery, and the size of the design. As there is no initial set up cost this is the preferred option for smaller volumes and for more textured garments. Embroidery •Badges: This process involves printing the logo on a special piece of fabric using a process called sublimation. The cost is determined by the volume printed and the size of the badge. The badge is then sewn onto the garment. This process allows for flexibility in the supply of garments, as badges can be printed in advance and sewn on as demand requires. What you need In order to obtain an accurate quote and to ensure the quality of your work please ensure you have the following: •A high resolution JPEG of the artwork you require Badge •An estimate of quantity •Colours required (Pantone numbers if possible) •Placement of branding on garment •Completed sign-off form from Alsafe confirming all details of the job Please remember that lead times may differ depending on the process used and the size of the order. Please enquire when ordering. Reflective tape Reflective tape Alsafe offers the service of having reflective tape sewn onto garments that require high visibility. The following is required in order to determine your quote and your finished product: •Type of tape: The standard tape used for contisuits is a 50mm silver lime tape. This industrial tape meets the required standards. Flame retardant tape, 50mm silver tape and prismatic tape are all available on request. •Placement of tape: The diagram indicates the standard positioning of tape on the arms and legs.
