VICE CHAIRPERSON'S MESSAGE “HELPING STUDENTS REALIZE THEIR POTENTIALS” ANJALI JAIPURIA (VICE CHAIRPERSON) Education at school level must necessarily and spontaneously lead to character development in all its four dimensions – wisdom, heroic will, universal love and chiseled, perfected skills with the capacity for untiring labour. We have an unflinching commitment to academics and our results stand witness of the same. From the new academic year, our teaching methodology will introduce self-study, research and group projects. Our students are exposed periodically, to a variety of speakers from different spiritual backgrounds. This is their tryst with Knowledge. Wisdom cannot be instilled. It blossoms in them as they absorb information and knowledge and let it manifest through their being. Our aim is to empower our students with internal resources to be able to enjoy the exquisite poetry and spontaneously imbibe the values of the texts, of which they are the natural inheritors. What we know of ourselves is only a small portion of who we truly are. Our integral being is like an unchartered territory. The more we know ourselves in depth, the better we can educate these deeper levels and utilize our full potential in life. The aim of good education is to expose the students to these hidden potentials and then provide an environment in which these faculties get full opportunity to blossom and flower. THE SCIENCE OF EDUCATION Education is as much a science as an art. Thats why over last two decades, we’ve evolved a proven methodology of imparting integral education to our students. Keeping in my the various stages of learning in a child’s life, we have divided the 14 years that a student spends at Jaipuria, into 5 stages. At each stage our deft and experienced facilitators address the varied individual needs of the students in a scientific manner with innovative pedagogical tools. THE LAST SCHOOL AFTER SCHOOL 1 Kindergarten I & II, Level 1, 2 and 3 Demonstration School–Level 4 and 5 At the Last School, we carry out the basic function of a ‘school’ i.e. to teach. The focus is on the development of language skills, both oral and written, mathematics and on the development of motor skills, mind-body coordination etc. The focus is on students learning through a continuous process of demonstrations made by the teachers. Teachers use tools such as Presentations, Field Visits, Trips, Museum Visits, Movie Viewing, Slide Shows, Exhibitions, Dramas, Recitations. Students are introduced to a variety of curricular and non-curricular subjects. A special course of study at this stage is the subject of 'What is learning? How does one learn? What are the methods & tools for learning?’ AFTER SCHOOL 2 Exploration School–Level 6, 7 & 8 The focus is on students learning through Explorations, Experimentations, Project Work & Research. Students are introduced to new more specialized fields of knowledge within the streams of Science & Social Studies. AFTER SCHOOL 3 Assimilation School–Level 9 and 10 Facilitators and mentors at this stage are attentive & supportive to each student's individual developmental needs. They also develop a counselor profile for each student to help them chart their growth path. SUPER SCHOOL Level 11 and 12 Having gone through the previous stages, students are now prepared to be introduced to subjects at a higher level.
