God’s Word...and You!
Using God’s Word to Pray - Terri Copeland Pearsons
The Word of God is the foundation of our prayer life. This is so vital to know and understand. We need
the grace of God to help us focus on uncovering His Word as that foundation for our lives, the source of our faith, and
most importantly, our connection with God Himself.
Imagine, when we hold our Bibles, we have in our hands the source of all created matter. God spoke and it was. From
the tiniest particle to the explosiveness of the sun and how every part in between relates to each other. His Word is so
infallible and so certain that God has bound Himself and the existence of all things to it. It is God’s most tangible gift
of Himself to us. It is the cornerstone of prayers that receive results.
Thankfully, the Lord did not leave us to uncover or understand the depth of such magnificence on our own. It is by the Holy Spirit that we understand, and by the Spirit that we
also speak. The Father, the Spirit and the Word agree (1 John 5:7). By permission
of the Father, the Spirit reveals to men what the Father said (John 16:13-14).

Then He makes that Word relevant to our lives. He shines the
light of the Word into the deepest part of our being so we can
understand who we are, what we’ve been given and our role
in God’s eternal purpose and plan.
Many of us realize God’s universal plan is laid out in His
Word. But not many have considered that the part our individual lives play in His purpose for mankind is in there as
well. Not just what the plan looks like, but more importantly,
within those words of God lies the power to bring destiny to
pass. And within those same words lies the power to bring
our own destiny to pass.
The Word says the power of life and death is in our tongue
(Proverbs 18:21). We actually give life to the plan of God
when we say what He says. God has given us His Word so
we can put it into our hearts and pray prayers back to Him
that are productive and full of faith. Because the Word of
God is the foundation of our prayer life, read and meditate it
constantly. Talk to God on the basis of what He has already
said to you in the Scriptures. It is our place to call forth those
things that be not as though they were so we can fully accomplish all He has for us to do. It is our privilege to work
with Him by speaking His Word so all He has in His heart will
come to pass.

Canada...and You!
This nation is ours not by chance but by design. Acts 17:26 says
that God determined our “times, and the boundaries of our dwellings….” So whether you were born here or this is your adopted
nation. Canada’s future is your inheritance.
Thrust into a world of unknowns as a young inexperienced pastor,
Timothy was charged by the Apostle Paul to “ …wage the good
warfare…” with “ … the prophecies previously made concerning
you…” (1 Timothy 1:18). For Timothy, even in the midst of uncertainty as to how to affect change in this new “world” of pastoring
a church, the Apostle Paul gave him only this charge. Pray about
your future using the words you received prophetically. Bring
those words to pass!

MY Canada/TheCry Canada - Faytene Kryskow
We have been in what is arguably the most profound season of
positive transformation that Canada has seen. Whether it is up-close
here in Ottawa at MY Canada or through our national prayer meetings
called TheCRY, we have been privileged to watch this change in our
nation unfold. Through TheCRYs we have seen thousands of Christians, young, old and from every culture and denomination, gather
to pray, fast and believe God to release heaven on earth in Canada.
Thousands have rallied at TheCRYs from St. John’s, Newfoundland to
Iqualuit, Nunavut to Vancouver, BC and many locations in between. It
has been exhilarating to watch these fervent prayer events unfold and
answers to prayer rush in on our nation!
Through MY Canada we lead hundreds of spirit-filled young
adults into what has been over 600 face-to-face meetings with our
Parliamentarians to pray, prophesy and exhort them to stand for Godly
values. This group of dynamic young adults has received audience with
the Prime Minister and his office, on a few occasions. As believers like
you have prayed, fasted and stepped out in prayerful action, a shift in
our nation has occurred!
As a nation we have begun to bless Israel, we have addressed
historical ‘wrongs’ committed towards the First Peoples of Canada,
raised the age of sexual consent, cracked down on human trafficking
and child pornography and truly the list could go on. Recent statistics
have shown a drop in youth drug, alcohol and cigarette addiction as
well as a decrease in youth engaging in pre-marital sex. A recent
report stated an estimated 40% of our Parliamentarians now profess
to be believers in Jesus Christ. Recently our very own Prime Minister
stated openly in a national interview that he fears the judgment of God
more than what the history books will say about him.
God has a plan for Canada. The Lord is calling all of us to maintain the ground that has been taken and continue to press forward in
prayer. With the Olympics, “G7” and “G8” global leadership summits
all landing within our borders in 2010, it is clear that God is positioning
us as a model to the world! Canada needs faith-filled believers to pray
for our leaders believing to see Canada blessed! That blessing looks
like destinies being fulfilled, souls harvested and healing released to
the “ends of the earth” (Psalm 72:8)! Thank you KCM Canada for your
support and standing with us for Canada. God has a dream for this
nation and together in prayer we will see it come true.

Karl Bartel 1948 - 2010
With our eyes firmly set on the hope we have in Jesus Christ, it is with heavy hearts that we announce
the passing of one of our staff members Karl Bartel.
Karl was a powerful minister of the gospel, praying with many of you over the phones, proclaiming God’s
Word with you and for you. It was a ministry he cherished. Karl was featured in our spring newsletter
one year ago. It is much too early to be sharing the news of Karl’s passing into the presence of our Lord,
as he was only 61 years of age.
Karl was a man who was full of the love of God. That force flowed from a very real, moment-bymoment, authentic faith-walk with Jesus. It was seen daily. Though often quiet in demeanor, it was not
uncommon for Karl to minister to the staff during daily devotions through a prophetic word or song. His
beautiful singing voice, strong character and soft heart are dearly missed. The weight of his character
left an imprint within every person ministering alongside him here. His legacy is this...he loved. We all
endeavor to honour that legacy by being like him because he was so like Christ.
With Karl’s passing we remember his family in prayer. We invite you to do the same.
