Friday, March 7th this 18-year
veteran scored big by tapping
the ceremonial keg of our
Braunbier, aka: Brown Beer.
We may have had record low
temperatures outside, but that
didn’t stop beer and hockey

Haus to watch Adrian make
the ultimate power play.

beer, we knew there was no
one better for the job than
veteran Channel 7 WLS news
anchor Ravi Baichwal. On
Friday, April 4th, Ravi helped us
welcome one of our seasonal
favorites by tapping the keg of
Dark Wheat beer. With friends,
family and a lively crowd by his
side, the Chicago Emmy winner
let the good times flow while
steins of brunette brew
filled our beer hall.

One of Munich’s oldest beers,
Maibock’s journey toward gold
began in 1614 when Brew
Master Elias Pichler rose to the
challenge of creating a stronger
beer for the people of Munich.
Since the beer would have to
travel long distances, Pichler
turned to the Einbeck brewing
method which called for
heating the beer to a very high
temperature. This enabled it to
ferment longer and produce a
stronger alcoholic brew. After
much experimenting, Pichler
succeeded in creating a flavor
as strong as it was refreshing.
Centuries later, the Hofbräu
Maibock is still made using the
same four-hundred-year-old
formula. Aligning with the strict
purity laws, this award-winning
brew contains 16 percent
original wort and an alcohol
level of about 7.2 percent
by volume.

We’ve just made it through
one of the worst winters on
record and that means it’s time
to celebrate! June’s seasonal
brew is Sommerbier, aka:

Sixth National Masskrugstemmen Championship.
