January Newsletter - Osceola Decorative Artists
An affiliated chapter of the Society of Decorative Painters January, 2012 2012 Board Members PRESIDENT Debbie Smith FIRST VICE PRESIDENT (programs) Barbara Layton SECOND VICE PRESIDENT (membership) Jill Terrell SECRETARY Debi Crook www.osceoladecorativeartists.com From the President Happy New Year! It is hard to believe it is 2012. We had a fantastic year as a chapter. It seems our workshops just get better and better. Please be sure to mark your calendars for the third Saturday of each month. Already our new board is working on making this a great learning year. Also, take a few minutes and think about what committees and activities might be for you. We will have a sign up sheet for committees for the next year and welcome all member's input and ideas. Lets make our resolutions to include enjoying our chapter and learning new painting projects. I look forward the 2012 and thanks to all our members for allowing me to serve you. Minutes of the Osceola Decorative Artists No Chapter Meeting in December SDP Membership Cards Just a reminder that your 2012 SDP membership card will be sent in the first Decorative Painter of 2012. 2 A Message from the First Vice President Not just out of consideration for our instructors/teachers, but out of necessity, our chapter will start in February 2012 a "preregistration" for workshops/seminars. The Wednesday before the chapter's class is the cut-off date for registering. Please plan ahead and make arrangements. New members or guests will have to sign up by the cut-off date as well or get permission from the first vice president to see if it is okayed by teacher. The teacher needs to know the head count to be prepared with supplies. The cost for member's workshops will remain at $10, visiting instructors set the amount they charge the chapter per day, this cost to the member would usually be $30 but not more than $40, the chapter will pick up the balance due. However, members from other chapters and guests will be charged an additional $5 to attend an ODA sponsored seminar.
