What is a family fleet?
A family fleet is aimed at fam-
ilies with multiple drivers and multiple cars. It is a great
way to insure a young driver for the first time on their

Bradley!
She was given this award due to her flexible approach to working hours and outstanding quality of
work. Well done Mrs Bradley!
Midnight Trek
Oakland are nuts about insurance and nuts
about charity too!
The team hiked for 50km over the Mourne Mountains on the 13th of June, but to top it all of… it
was at midnight! Lynette Coomber (team captain), Dee Moore, Ciara Dillon and Megan Forrest,
along with Support Driver, Paul Matthews, successfully completed the challenging experience
and did everyone in the company and surrounding community proud. It is with thanks that we announce, we have raised £1728.89 for Action Medical Research, and an additional £410.72
through Gift Aid. The group clearly displayed their determination and team spirits throughout ‘The
PLOD’ as they scooped up the prize for ’Ploddy Brilliant Team’ at the awards evening!  We
would like to thank Customers of B&M (Connswater), Crawfords Supermarket (Maghera) and
Woodsides (Larne). A big thanks to each individual who donated money to ‘The PLOD’.
The overnight endurance challenge tested the teams orienteering skills,

Team member Ciara Dillon said,
‘It was tough going but I
really enjoyed it! It was an
amazing achievement in
the end. I definitely would
do it again and recommend it to others as it
was for such a worthy
cause. You get energy
from others and by encouraging the team. At
the end I had such a
sense of achievement, it
was so pleasing!’
Where were you on Saturday 19th July? If the
answer is Limavady Farm Show, hopefully you
entered our competition where one lucky farmer
won £200 off his insurance policy! Come along
next year for a day of fun, pick up a free goody
bag, and we will be happy to provide any advice you may want on your
insurance needs. Oakland Insurance were also proud to sponsor the Limavady Vintage Show and Fun Day on the 26th July. This was another enjoyable afternoon with displays, bouncy castles, line and Irish dancing, live
music and much, much more!
Previously Oakland supported the Cairncastle Hill Climb in June, where
the staff met many of our Classic Car customers and cheered them over
the finishing line! As recently mentioned Oakland raised an enormous
amount of money for Action Medical Research for Children and enjoyed
participating in the event. Our company also supported
the community earlier in the year when Rodney McMullan won a hamper provided by Oakland containing dog
treats, goodies and toys at the Carnlough Charity Dog
Trials. In November 2013 Oakland supported Maghera’s discount day and
the switching on of the Christmas lights. We opened the branch especially
to supply free hot punch, biscuits and 10% off vouchers to encourage the
Christmas spirit.

Every year Oakland have a summer incentive
where everyone gets together to unwind away
from the offices. Last year the staff went to the
Jungle NI for an active day out, however this
year’s agenda relates to a more thoughtful challenge. On Friday 8th August a murder will occur!
