View three short films and join in a community discussion with the filmmakers.
Navajo Math Circles. The film explores the meeting of
two worlds - that of some of our most accomplished mathematicians and the children and teachers of the largely
rural Navajo Nation. Filmmaker George Csicsery, math
Professor Hugo Rossi and several Navajo families will join
us to share their incredible experiences.
The Bears Ears. The story of the long struggle to preserve
the Bears Ears Region and its surrounding lands as the
final frontier of southwestern wild lands. Filmmaker Justin
Clifton will join us to discuss the issues.
Exploration, Encounter & Exchange: Long Walk of
the Navajo. The three local eighth grade filmmakers, who
took 1st prize among their statewide peers for this short
film, will share their insights into this difficult period in the
history of their people.
