Old Mission Santa Inés is seeking a part-time Youth Minister to join the team developing a new program to actively engage parish teens in the life of the Church. This position could include Confirmation Coordinator depending
upon background. Candidate must be a practicing Catholic with solid experience working with youth. A degree in
theology or religious studies or archdiocesan or national
YM certification is desirable. Must have excellent communication and organizational skills (ideally, Spanish
fluency as well) and be willing to work collaboratively.

Special Collection – Priest Retirement Fund
This weekend all parishes throughout the Archdiocese of
Los Angeles will be asked to give generously to support the
Retirement Fund for Archdiocesan Priests. At each Mass
on June 11th & 12th, a second collection will be taken to
benefit this important program. Currently, the fund provides
for more than 100 priests who are retired. Over the next ten
years, that number is expected to increase significantly. With
minimal compensation, and in many cases, no pension, these
men often retire with nothing to fall back upon. Your contributions can change that. The Priest Retirement Fund offers
us a way to give back to our Catholic priests who have
served us so faithfully. Your contribution will help archdiocesan priests live modestly and peacefully in retirement. Help
us offer thanks for their years of devotion to God, and faithful service to our parish communities. Look for the brochures in the pews next weekend for more information.

Summer camp is a time-honored tradition for kids. Whether it’s
an all-day camp or cabin sleepaway, kids can get out of the
house, learn new skills, and make friends. Parents who send
their kids off to camp should be sure to research the camp and
the counselors who will be watching their kids. If your child is
going to sleep-away camp, check in by phone or mail regularly.

TRADICIONES DE NUESTRA FE
En 1910, cuatro años antes de iniciar el Día de las Madres, el
pueblo de Estados Unidos empezó a celebrar ocasionalmente un
día para los padres de familia. Pero, no fue hasta 1972 que se
fijó un día oficial para el papá. Poco a poco esta fecha del segundo domingo de junio se ha ido expandiendo al resto del
mundo con algunas excepciones. En Italia por ejemplo, la fiesta
del padre se celebra el 19 de marzo, día de san José. Durante la
Revolución Industrial del siglo diecinueve, José, esposo de María recibió su primera fiesta oficial. La Iglesia, preocupada por
el ingreso del padre a las fábricas, propuso a este santo varón
como ejemplo de lo que los padres deben ser en la vida de sus
hijos e hijas; ejemplos de fe, ternura y trabajo. Aún en nuestro
tiempo, el Rito del Bautismo de niños insiste que el padre, junto
con la madre, deben ser los mayores maestros de sus hijos. Al
igual que José, el papá debe cuidar y proteger a su familia, enseñarle a los niños a trabajar y ser honestos para el bien de la
familia y la sociedad.

Ministro de Jóvenes de tiempo parcial para unirse al equipo de desarrollo de un nuevo programa para involucrar
activamente a los adolescentes de la parroquia en la vida
de la Iglesia. Esta posición podría incluir Coordinador de
Confirmación dependiendo de la experiencia. El candidato debe ser un católico practicante con una sólida experiencia de trabajo con los jóvenes. Un título en teología o
estudios religiosos o certificación YM arquidiocesana o
nacional es deseable. Debe tener una excelente comunicación y habilidades de organización (de preferencia, que
sea fluyente en el español también) y estar dispuesto a
trabajar en colaboración.

¿SABÍA USTED?
Implemente reglas de seguridad para niños que van a campamentos de verano
El campamento de verano es una larga tradición para los niños. Ya
sea que se trate de un campamento de un solo día o uno de varios
días o meses en una cabaña, los niños pueden dejar la casa, aprender nuevas capacidades, y hacer amistades. Los padres de familia
que envían a sus hijos a estos campamentos deben asegurarse de
investigar el campamento y a los consejeros que estarán cuidando a
sus hijos. Si su hijo/hija va a ir a un campamento de varios días,
llame y escriba correos electrónicos a su hijo/hija con regularidad.
Haga preguntas y asegúrese de que su niño/niña esté seguro(a) y

Colecta especial- Fondo de Retiro para Sacerdotes
Este fin de semana se le pedirá a todas las parroquias de la Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles que den generosamente para apoyar el
Fondo de Retiro para Sacerdotes de la Ar quidiócesis. En cada
misa el 11 y 12 de junio, una segunda colecta se tomará en beneficio de este importante programa. Actualmente, el fondo se les ofrece a más de 100 sacerdotes que están retirados. Durante los próximos diez años, se espera que este número aumente significativamente. Con una compensación mínima, y en muchos casos, sin
pensión, estos hombres a menudo se retiran sin nada que los respalde. Sus contribuciones pueden cambiar eso. El Fondo de Retiro
para Sacerdotes nos ofrece una manera de devolver a nuestros
sacerdotes Católicos que nos han servido tan fielmente. Su contribución ayudará a los sacerdotes de la arquidiócesis a tener una
vida modesta y en paz en su retiro. Ayúdenos a darle las gracias
por sus años de dedicación a Dios y fiel servicio a nuestras comunidades parroquiales. Busque los folletos en las bancas el próximo
