Canadian food was quite different than in Brazil. We observed a new culture and way of living compared to Brazil life. English is now much easier to speak and understand. We had lessons by the Ski Wentworth that had to see the doctor but they are doing great now and still had fun!! The food here is not very different than in Brazil but there are new things for me here like waffles and the pancakes that are here are smaller and for me, better than in Brazil. They eat more things on breakfast here and chocolate too! It is very strange because we do not eat chocolate on breakfast or too much food. But I liked it very much. One thing that I noticed too, is they eat “Kraft Dinner”. This is very delicious. It is like “Miogo”. Actually, I like both foods. It is not very different. Truro and Biblehill MLA Lenore Zann TJHS DANCE Having fun with Truro Junior High Students! We went to the dance Tuesday and we danced a lot. We were very shy in the beginning but after Ingrid and Grazy started dancing, we had a lot of fun. We didn’t have this in Brazil that’s why we were very shy. Every song that had there, we knew it. But one song that we wanted was “oh, if I catch you”, a Brazilian song, but they didn’t play. Everybody knew a lot of people at the dance and we knew until today, I think forever. It was very difficult for us but after, everybody danced a lot. YOGA Truro Sport Hall of Fame YOGA • We saw many Truro Athletes in the sport hall of fame. They had old jerseys from hockey teams and lots of photos. One day we went down town to exercise our bodies. Some of us didn’t like the yoga, because it was really difficult. [4] Truro Junior A Bearcat Game! SNOW DAYS 2012 We had two snow days while in Canada WHEN HAVE STORM, THE SCHOOL CALL TO ALL THE STUDENTS SAYING THAT THE SCHOOL WAS CANCELLED BECAUSE WITH THE STORM IS DANGEROUS FOR THE [5] BUS DRIVERS DRIVE AND WHEN DON’T HAVE SCHOOL PEOPLE GENERALLY GO BACK TO SLEEP AND WAKE MANY HOURS LATER. OVERALL, WE LIKED SNOW DAYS AND HAD A LOT OF FUN WITH OUR CANADIAN FAMILIES. Walk through Victoria Park LOREM IPSUM Victoria Park is a trail that goes from the school (TJHS) to downtown. It a really cold walk so if you want to go to Victoria Park you should wear warm clothes. Its a beautiful place where you can see waterfalls and take some pictures. In the summer time, it must be even prettier as the waterfalls won’t be frozen and the sun will be shinning. Police Station and a visit with Constable Keddy. After we walked too much we arrived in the police station of Truro. The police officer talked to us and show us the pictures of their best dogs. After we entered into the office’s police station and we met the secretary and we entered in the jail and we left the station. Shubenacadie Wildlife Park on Groundhog’s Day The Wildlife Park was very cool. We saw a lot of animals. The Wildlife Park is the most beautiful park. There are foxes, wolves, deer, moose... This park is awesome!!! The Discovery Center was one of our favorite places we visited! We all had a lot of fun. Mooseheads Hockey Game The first hockey game that we went to was in a small stadium and was funny, we had a great time. The second hockey game was better than the first, it was in Halifax. We were very noisy and sometimes we can saw us in the tv. It was very exciting. The Mooseheads won the game 5-3. Go Moose Go!! [7] FRIDAY FUN DAY OUR LAST FULL DAY Nova Scotia Agricultural College Tour The Nova Scotia Agricultural College is the University/College in Truro. It mainly educates students in animal agriculture and plant sciences. We saw the barns full of sheep, lambs, calves and cows. We also saw the 2nd largest rock garden in North America and the Alumni gardens as well. They were all covered in snow but very nice. Then we built a snow man in the Alumni Gardens. Masstown Market and the Lighthouse We had lunch at a popular market in the country. It was yummy. We did a bit of Nova Weekends! Some of us realized that the canadian weekends are very exciting because some people say in house playing inside or outside and others go out with their family, to tourism places or to shopping malls, we had snow in almost all the weekends. Hamilton’s Sleigh Rides! We picked the warmest day of the vacation Scotia souvenier shopping and went on a tour for the sleigh ride and it was great!!! The two around a lighthouse.
