SHOW INFORMATION
Eurobeat is the wonderfully hilarious celebration of the Eurovision Song Contest and opens the dawn of the
interactive musical. We are in SARAJEVO, the capital of Boznia-Hertzegovnia, who have somehow won the rights to
host this year’s competition. Competing countries are:
ITALY GERMANY
ICELAND
UNITED KINGDOM
ESTONIA
GREECE UKRAINE
RUSSIA
HUNGARY
IRELAND
LICHTENSTEIN FRANCE
SWEDEN
NORWAY
Act One sees the 14 countries perform their respective competition entries. Following this, the audience vote for
their favourite countries at interval.
Act Two features a special politically charged presentation from the Host Country, culminating in the song “I’m
Sarajevo”. This is followed by “live crosses” across Europe to find out how the continent (audience) has voted. The
show culminates in the announcement and reprise performance by the winning country.
Eurobeat has enjoyed immense succeess and critical acclaim throughout Australia and internationally, with a
successful run on London’s West End. This production of Eurobeat will feature the show’s original 12 songs plus
feature two new songs, never before performed in Eurobeat, in what will be a premiere event!
ROLES
SERGEI
Sergei is the male host of the show. He is over the top, has a thick accent, and is a showy master of ceremonies. His
english is not so good. He has a slight crush on Boyka. The actor playing this role will need great comic timing and
be able to think quickly on their feet as well as be able to interact with the audience.
BOYKA
Boyka is the female host of the show. She is happy and pleasant, has a thick accent, and acts as the voice of
reason. She finds Sergei small minded. She needs great comic timing to drive the show and interact with the
audience. The actor in this role also needs a strong singing voice.
SINGERS/ LIVE CROSS PRESENTERS
These cast members represent each of the countries in the song entries / cross live from around europe to deliver voting
results, playing several characters. These performers need to have strong singing voices and be able to act and move
well. All will have several feature moments througout the show. They need to portray pop culture references effectively
and have sound comic timing whilst using a range of accents effectively and being prepared to interact with the
audience. Note that different songs have different singing ranges, and the production team will assess suitability for
each of the sung numbers during the audition period.
DANCERS
Looking for an exceptional ensemble of energetic dancers who are comfortable with a range of dance styles and can
show personality. These cast members will perform as feature dancers in some numbers and backing dancers in
others. Singing ability is preferred but not essential.
