With the basic solution described below, you can run motors up to 1900 kW/6.6 kV. Disconnector closing conditions Interlocking prevent disconnector closure (normal operation) if: b the contactor is closed b the access door is open b the contactor is not in the fully connected position b the earthing switch is closed. Test position Interlocking allow for test position which meet the following criteria: b the front door has been opened for access b the disconnector is open and cannot be closed b the contactor is in the fully connected position and can be operated. Padlocks interlocking is the basic design of the interlocking b on the disconnector: padlock possibilities in open and closed position b on the earthing switch (if any): padlock possibilities in open and closed position. Fixation on the floor The cubicle is bolted on the floor inline with the main incomer cubicle. Extra optional key locks may be sypplied: b on the disconnector: v 2 keys locks: open or closed/open b on the earthing switch v 1 key lock: closed position. Auxiliary contacts are available for the customer’s use b on the disconnector: 2 form “C” contacts b on the contactor: 4 form “C” contacts b on the earthing switch (if any): 2 form “C” contacts. The enclosure shall be designed to improve safety, reliability, maintainability, and reduce civil engineering cost. As a minimum it shall have the following features: Fully safe compartment design b visible earthed position in front of the switchgear indicating safe isolation of the starter from the busbar b cable earthing switch with making capacity 14 kA peak b all operations carried out with closed doors b simple and robust internal interlocks prevent improper operation b fully tested for internal arc resistance in the busbar compartments (50 kA - 0,25 s) b clear and animated display diagrams. Reliable architecture b enclosure designed to protect against dust and vermin with compartments separated by metal sheets or isolating components b air break line disconnector 400 A with 2 positions (closed/earthed) safely isolating the load compartment from the busbar b busbar compartment with horizontal main bus allowing easy extension is preferred. Maintenance access of the busbar shall be able from the cubicle. b load compartment shall comprise: v a removable vacuum contactor, electrically held 110 V AC (50 Hz) v MV fuses v a Low Power Current Transducer v a cable earthing switch v a Voltage Presence Indication System v cable connection facilities b low voltage compartment with all necessary devices for protection, control and communication b front operating panel with all necessary devices to operate the disconnector and the cable earthing switch b main connections shall be checked by a continuous thermal monitoring system. Protection and monitoring chain The contactor shall be controlled locally for test and remotely (Sepam 100MI type). The motor protection shall include as a minimum: b protection: v phase overcurrent (51) coordinated with the fuses v thermal overload protection (49RMS) v earth fault protection (51N) v locked rotor, excessive starting time (48, 51LR;14) v negative sequence /unbalance (46); v number of starts per hour (66) v phase undercurrent (37) b metering phase current and residual current: v average current, peak demand current b network and machine diagnosis: v tripping current v unbalance ratio, negative sequence current v disturbance recording v thermal capacity used v remaining operating time before overload tripping v waiting time after overload tripping v running hours counter/operating time v starting current and time v start inhibit time delay, number of starts before inhibition b switchgear diagnosis: v cumulative breaking current b control and monitoring: v latching / acknowledgement (86).
