15 Unforgettable Newsletter Projects Timeless projects to spark your creativity. On the Diagonal Placing your focal point on a diagonal is a nice way to add interest and flow to your designs. catherinepooler.com Page 1 of 46 Embellished Elegance Embellished Elegance Stampin' Up Supplies (unless otherwise noted) Stamps: Hero Arts Greeting Stamp Set Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Calypso Coral Ink: Early Espresso Accessories: Linen Thread, Tea for Two Designer Series Paper, Heart Punch catherinepooler.com Page 2 of 46 Embellished Elegance Embellished Elegance Instructions Trim patterned paper to 4 x 5-1/4 and cut it at a diagonal. Turn it and then line that first diagonal cut on one of the lines on your paper trimmer to ensure that the next cut is straight. Next, adhere this to a 4 x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla and stamp your greeting. Use a Small Heart Punch (or circle punch) and punch just a bit off of each side of the card. Punch out a Vanilla heart and poke a hole through it. Tie Linen Thread around card threading it through the heart, then tying it into a bow. This little touch really pulled the hearts together and made it an important part of the card. Embellished Elegance catherinepooler.com Page 3 of 46 Embellished Elegance Embellished Elegance Versatile Design This card design is a perfect starting point, it can be easily tweaked to give it a new look every time. You could change out the embossed background for patterned paper or use die cuts in place of the wooden embellishment. The possibilities are endless. catherinepooler.com Page 4 of 46 Embellished Elegance Embellished Elegance All Supplies Stampin' Up (unless otherwise noted) Fabulous Florets Stamp Set, With Gratitude Stamp Set by Flourishes Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie Ink: Pool Party, Early Espresso Accessories: Deco Labels, Linen Thread, Chevron Embossing Folder, Wooden Butterfly by Recollections, Copic Markers to color the butterfly catherinepooler.com Page 5 of 46 Embellished Elegance Embellished Elegance Instructions Cut card stock to the following measurements: Card Base: 4 1/4 x 11, folded & scored Layer One: 4 x 5 1/4 Layer Two: 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 Emboss the Pool Party layer using the Chevron Embossing Folder. If you don’t have Washi Tape, try patterned paper instead. catherinepooler.com Page 7 of 46 Embellished Elegance Embellished Elegance Stampin' Up Supplies: Chalk Talk Stamp Set Cardstock: Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Island Indigo Ink: Stazon Black Accessories: Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper, Gingham Garden Washi Tape, Rhinestones, Melon Mambo Ribbon (this one is retired, but you can substitute another type), Dimensionals, Itty Bitty Punch Pack, Hearts Framelits, Chalk Talk Framelits, Adorning Accents Embossing Folder, Chevron Embossing Folder, Paper Doilies catherinepooler.com Page 8 of 46 Embellished Elegance Embellished Elegance Instructions Stamp image from the Chalk Talk Stamp Set in black Stazon Ink on White Cardstock. Using the Chalk Talk Framelits, cut it out with the Big Shot. Add a small piece of a doily to one edge of the cut out framelit and tie a ribbon around the top. Punch out the smallest Heart Framelit (any heart will do if you don't have this one...or try any flower punch!), sponge the edges and add a flower from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack embellished with a rhinestone. Cut layers as follows: Card Base: 4-1/4 x 5-1/2. Black layer: 4-1/8 x 5-3/8. Melon Mambo: 4 x 5-1/4 and embossed with the Chevron Embossing Folder. Cut a piece of White Cardstock to 3-1/4 x 4-1/2, run the bottom through an embossing folder and add Washi Tape to it. Washi Tape is so thin it just tears and leaves a fun, ragged edge. Assemble all layers, then go make someone's day! catherinepooler.com Page 9 of 46 Embellished Elegance Embellished Elegance Joseph’s Coat Technique The Joseph’s Coat technique is a fabulous way to make a beautiful background piece for your card.
