RIBBON CUTTING — A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the completion of the
Farmer’s Market Pavilion in downtown Stuttgart.
The new Farmers Market
Pavilion built downtown next
to the Stuttgart Chamber of
Commerce is complete.
Funding for the pavilion
came from several sources.
The Stuttgart Chamber ofCommerce donated the land,
while Stuttgart Unlimited
provided funds to hire an architect and engineer.
Mayor Marianne Maynard
and Carl Humphrey with
the Stuttgart Industrial Development Corp. helped get
a $120,000 grant approved
through the Southeast Arkansas Economic Development-

presented to Suzanne Kizzire

The Master Gardener program, sponsored by the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service,
selects the Yard-of-the-Month
recipients.
The Stuttgart Chamber of
Commerce presents the award
to encourage local residents to
work in their yards to enhance
the beauty of the city.

Youth Duck Calling
Clinic Registration
KIWANIS CLUB PRESIDENT - Chamber Director, Bethany Hodges, was
inducted as President of the Kiwanis Club of Stuttgart for the 2014-2015

Registration for the Youth Duck Calling Clinic
featuring Butch Richenback will be Monday, Oct.
13, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Stuttgart
Chamber of Commerce.
The Youth Duck Calling Clinic is one of many
events of the 79th annual World’s Championship Duck Calling Contest and Wings Over The
Prairie Festival.
The lessons will be taught by former World
Champion Duck Caller and Champion of Champions Duck Caller Butch Richenback. Classes
are for children in 1st-grade through 5th-grade.
Registration is $20 per student.
Classes begin Monday, Oct. 20 and will be held
at the Grand Prairie Center. The class schedule
and dates will be handed out at the registration.
Each student will have the chance to compete
in the Youth Duck Calling Contest on Wednesday,
Nov. 26, on the Stuttgart Stage downtown at the
Wings Over The Prairie Festival.
The clinic will be limited to 50 students this
year. There will be 20 beginner students; 15 semiadvanced students; and 15 advanced students.
Classes will be closed once they are full.

Arkansas Duck Calling Classic held in September
The 7th annual ArkansasDuck Calling Classic was held
on September 26th - 27th in
Stuttgart on the Stuttgart
Stage. Duck callers had 4 opportunities to qualify for the
79th annual World’s Champi-
onship Duck Calling Contest
in November.
The event included the
Arkansas State Duck Calling Contest, Mack’s Regional
Duck Calling Contest, Ducks
Unlimited Regional Contest
ARKANSAS STATE CONTEST — Tyler Merritt from El Paso won
the Arkansas State Contest. To his right is 2nd Runner Up - Carl
Lamb from Dewitt, 1st Runner Up- Shawn Hepler from Jacksonville, and 3rd Runner Up - Jonathan Mortin from Trumann.
and the Cache River Regional
Duck Calling Contest.
There was also a Junior
Contest and an Intermediate
contest held during the event.

The contest in November
will see more callers this year,
including at least two callers
from Canada and one from
New Zealand.

Rid Litter Day Success!
Local Economy
Rid Litter Day was
held on September 16 in the City of
Stuttgart in partnership with the Keep
Arkansas Beautiful
Program.
After the pickup, a
cookout was held
at the new Stuttgart
Pavilion for volunteers.
