Play Unplugged!
Got boredom? We have the answer! “Play Unplugged” is a program
for children, ages 4 through 10, being offered Monday through Friday
from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
A variety of activities are planned to help keep the children busy and
away from the TV, game systems, and other electronics. The children
can take part in arts and crafts, building an obstacle course, board
games, playing in the game room, and playing different sports.
For more information, call the Nova Community Center at (386) 6763252.
Memorial Benches Installed
Memorial benches were recently installed by the
Parks Maintenance staff in Central Park III and in
Cassen Park.
The memorial bench program has grown to be a
popular way for the City to obtain amenities for its
parks while assisting individuals in memorializing
their loved ones. So much so, that several of our
parks no longer have space.
Please contact Leisure Services at 676-3250 for
more information.

Sanchez Park Maintenance
The Parks Maintenance staff has been busy recently giving Sanchez Park a little TLC to make it
even more enjoyable for our residents and visitors. Trimming the overgrowth around the pier will
provide safer conditions for those wishing to do a little fishing, and a new sign was posted in the
picnic pavilion to provide visitors with the rules and regulations of the park. The picnic pavilion is
available for rent for those interested in reserving it for picnics, birthday parties or other social
events. Please contact Leisure Services at 676-3250 for reservation information.

Florida’s Kopy Kats Present
“Fascinating Rhythm”
It will be their 25th season of entertaining Florida East Coast audiences with Broadway's most
memorable music and dance. Kopy Kats, local performers from Ormond Beach and surrounding
cities from Palm Coast to Edgewater, take the stage November 7, 8 and 9 to present "Fascinating
Rhythm," an energetic production that promises to delight all who attend.
This year's two-hour show, with elaborate costumes, lighting and sound, features jazz, tap,
character routines and songs from such well known hits as; "Oklahoma, Pippin, Flower Drum Song,
Charlie Brown the Musical, Fascinating Rhythm," and many other musical icons.
The 40 member cast is directed and choreographed by Jerome DeVito from New York, who started
South Beach Dance in Daytona 20 years ago. DeVito is nationally recognized for his studio's
outstanding competition record over the years, as well as for his judging career.
Preparation for this elaborate production began in January with 6-10 hours of weekly rehearsals
learning new choreography and review. Rehearsals increase as showtime approaches and
become daily in the last few weeks. While many performers have had dance and theatre
experience earlier in their lives, other performers
are fulfilling a dream postponed, but now possible
through the facilities and instructional talent
available to East-Central Florida residents at the
Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center. Kopy
Kats welcomes people interested in performing
and able to rehearse during the week to join the
active group.
Showtimes are Friday and Saturday, November 7
and 8 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 9, at
2:30 p.m.
Reserved tickets for the show are $15 and are
available online at the City of Ormond Beach
website www.ormondbeach.org and at the
Performing Arts Center Box Office located at 399
N. US Hwy 1. The Box Office is open Tuesday
through Friday from Noon until 5:00 p.m., and two
hours prior to every show. Tickets can also be
ordered over the telephone by calling the Box
Office at 386-676-3375. Visa and MasterCard are
accepted.
