President’s Message I understand our speaker in February, Linda Reed was insightful and clearly a woman of action. Thanks to all participants who had displays in the financial fair. Hopefully you left with some new contacts and approaches to your financial situations. Guest registrations are up over last year and this night was no exception. Kathryn Fanning, your incoming President did a wonderful job and I was sad to miss such a wonderful meeting. You have many benefits already paid for that you can use to promote your business. Twoonie Talk gives you a chance to let people make a connection between your face and your business. Table drops are a sure way to get your message in front of people. Newsletter inserts are also a great way to expose your business still only $35.00. Make sure your fellow members know who you are! If you need help understanding these programs please contact me and I will be happy to clarify. The board will be having a special meeting in February to review the results of the survey that almost half the membership completed online. We will present highlights to you at an upcoming meeting and use the data to shape changes for the upcoming year. As I have mentioned the board’s primary role is to create programs and offerings that you have asked for. Our March 4th meeting will feature Patricia Brusha. She will speak to Sales, Marketing, Internet Distribution and Revenue Management. I am sure there will be some helpful insights on maximizing your business success. Patricia Brusha is the co-founder of “Couple of Chicks.Com” an Internet Marketing, Distribution & Revenue Measurement Company. She has spent 26 years working in the Hospitality Industry in the United States and Canada in the fields of Sales, Marketing, Internet Distribution and Revenue Management where her responsibilities were working with Multi-Branded portfolios along with Independent Hotels & Resorts. She has taken an active role in training including teaching at Macomb Community College in Michigan where she taught, Revenue Management Training and The Hospitality Selling Method. Patricia also developed and conducted multiple, “Understanding Internet Distribution” and “Strategies for Improving Revenue” Workshops. Every year the WBN members participate in the Annual Women in Business Award sponsored by the Examiner. Watch for applications. April 30th in the date of the Luncheon. You can be nominated or submit a self nomination – after all who knows you best! Along with her partner, Patricia also developed a successful series of “Get Cracking” workshops educating individuals on all aspects of marketing online. These workshops have been conducted for such notable clients as Travel Alberta and the Student Youth and Travel Association. As you are all aware we have the chance to support each other everyday.
