Have you been visiting Wesley Memorial for a while, and you want to learn more about
who we are and what we believe? You’re invited to Wesley Memorial 101, a two-part class
to introduce you to life at Wesley Memorial and the meaning of Membership. Join Jared
Stine today and next Sunday at 9:45 am in the Circle View Room to learn more.
JOIN US FOR Hanging of the Greens this afternoon at 4:30 pm
We have an evening of fun and fellowship planned for all ages, with activities
for children K - 5th grade beginning at 4:30 pm. Infant care will be avail­able
in the Crib Room. Volunteers are needed to assist with the activities in each
classroom. Dinner will be served at 6 pm in the Dining Hall. Following
dinner we will have a “Carol Sing” and light the decorated Children’s Tree.
The MYF Christmas Party is next Sunday, December 13
Our annual Christmas party will be at Mary Drummond’s house at 4236 Rock Bridge Road
from 7-9 pm next Sunday. Middle school students are asked to bring a sweet snack, and
high school students are asked to bring a salty snack. We will have our traditional Dirty
Santa gift exchange. If you’d like to be involved, please bring a gift that is no more than $5.
Live alive’s Christmas program will be held on tuesday, DECember 15
Live Alive gatherings are for adults 55+ to enjoy and fellowship.
Activities begin at 10 am, Live Alive Book Club at 10:30 am in the Small
Dining Room. For our December program, we will share the songs
of Christmas. The lunch menu is: baked ham, mac-and-cheese, peas,
bread and apple pie. Please RSVP for the meal by calling the Front Desk (884-2204) by
noon on Friday, December 11. Cost is $6.

The New Year brings with it renewed enthusiasm, resolutions and big plans! Make
joining a book study one of those plans! Join Rev. Erin Beall as she leads a discussion-based study of Brené Brown’s, Rising Strong. Brown is a magnificent teacher,
speaker, and writer, whom you may have heard on NPR or seen on ted.com. Rising
Strong is her second book, following her first, number-one bestseller Daring Greatly. Brené specializes in studying shame and fear, and how they can be overcome so that we can be our best
selves. Books will be $20 from the church, or you can order your own on your Kindle. Classes will
be Wednesday nights, 6:30-7:45 pm in the Circle View Room, January 13 - February 24.
New classes starting in January! DivorceCare for Kids
After a divorce or separation, kids usually feel scared, sad, and confused. They know you have been hurt deeply. As a result, they may
hide their feelings because they are worried about your happiness
or because they do not know how to express their feelings appropriately. DivorceCare for Kids
(DC4K) helps them process those feelings and gives them tools to communicate better with
you. DC4K provides your children with a safe and neutral place to gain an age-appropriate understanding of separation and divorce. They will learn how to process and share their feelings.
For 13 weeks your children become involved in a fun, caring group. The weekly session topics
help your children learn that God’s love strengthens them and helps them turn their sadness
to hope and their anger to joy. Children ages 5-12 are welcome. Sessions are supervised by a
licensed professional counselor. Stay tuned for more information.

Every year the Adult Sunday School classes help with decorating. Below is the
assignment list: Aldersgate-Miller Memorial/Adult Fellowship (Asbury Room
& garland in Chapel); Brand X (Narthex Tree); Covenant Class along with the
Contemporary Worship Praise Team (Fellowship Hall); Genesis (Wreaths on the
outside doors); New Vision (help serve dinner); One Word (bring refreshments);
Perspectives (help with Dining Hall tree, stringing lights, helping kids with ornaments & preparing the meal); Suzanna Wesley (decorate Dining Hall tables &
help serve dinner). Additional volunteers are needed to decorate the Pre-School
Lobby Tree and other areas. We would love to have you join us!
Deliver Christmas Poinsettias December 13-18
The Caring Ministry Team invites you to help deliver Christmas poinsettias to Wesley Memorial members who are
homebound or in nursing facilities. They look forward to
your visit every year. No caroling or singing required! Simply
pick up a few poinsettias with some names and addresses, and make a visit at
