Our Parish Mass Schedule The Sacrament of Baptism Sunday morning at 8:00am & 10:15am Baptism is celebrated on dates that are mutually convenient for Father O'Sullivan and the parents. Before a Baptism date can be set, parents should secure letters of eligibility for their recommended Godparents and present them to the rectory. Parents attendance at our Parish's Pre-Jordan program should be satisfied before a Baptism date is set. Parents are asked not to make any celebratory arrangements until a Baptism date is confirmed by our Rectory staff. Amen. 2 #143 Sacred Heart Dear Friends, Last Sunday, October 2nd, our Parish hosted a ‘Blue Mass’ at our 5:00pm Mass to honor and thank the men and women of our community who serve us as Police Officers, Firefighters and Emergency Response Personnel. Our Church was filled with parishioners, friends and Police, Firefighters and Emergency Responders! Many thanks to Pete Hand for organizing the Mass, the members of the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) for cohosting the Mass, and the members of our Music Ministry and Liturgical ministers who lend so much to our Liturgy. On Sunday, October 16th, (weather permitting) we will re-dedicate our newly renovated Sacred Heart Grotto. (Many of you have noticed the workmen in the grotto area over the last several weeks repairing and adding to the beauty of the grotto area.) Immediately following our 10:15am Mass, all parishioners are welcome to join us in procession to the grotto area for a brief prayer service and blessing. Booklets will be distributed at the end of Mass to those joining us for the re-dedication. The rededication ceremony should take less than 15 minutes. Light refreshments will be served in our parish hall following the rededication. Scholarship Fund The Knights of Columbus, Holy Family Council (Bridgeport #3327) is offering two scholarships (One scholarship for $3,000 and one scholarship for $2,000) for the academic year 2017-2018. Parishioners from our three Bridgeport Parishes (Sacred Heart, Saints Peter and Paul and Saint John the Baptist) are eligible to apply for this tuition assistance. Applicants planning to attend a Catholic regional or Parish grade school, (from K 8), an Archdiocesan high school, or a Catholic college or university are eligible to apply. A Program is offered on Sunday evenings from 7:15 -8:45 pm. at Daylesford Abbey in Paoli. This 13week series begins on October 23 and runs (biweekly) through June 11, 2017. This is a Catholic ministry offering, welcome support and direction in navigating this most stressful, confusing and painful time.
