There is also the Spiritual Development Committee. Love to socialize and make people feel welcome? Join the Pancake Breakfast Committee or the Ministers of Hospitality, who serve coffee and donuts and prepare food for parish functions. Got an eye for details? Then our Decorating Committee needs you to help prepare the Altar for the Liturgical Seasons. Love to help your fellow man? Our Christmas Outreach Program, Food Pantry may be just right for you? Every year at this time, our Parish launches its “Called To Serve” campaign, which marks the beginning of many of our Parish Ministries for the coming year. This year, Called To Serve Weekend falls on September 19th & 20th. We are blessed to have many dedicated and generous parishioners at St. Bridget’s, who volunteer for the many activities that help to bring the love of Christ to our parish and to the community at large. Please note: ALL Volunteers must be CORI’d on these two days, take a few minutes to stop by the tables with your license and fill out the form! Please consider serving as a volunteer for one or several of the Parish ministries. We need you ALL. As you contemplate how you can participate, reflect on these words from our Lord: ‘Amen, Amen, I say to you, as long as you did this to one of the least of my brethern, you did it to Me.’ Incredible News from Mrs. Sebastian in the Tuition Office! Every year we have many students who need financial aid. For the most part this is handled through the Help-A-Student Fund, which Msgr. Strahan started approximately 20 years ago. Donations come in from parishioners and past parents for these scholarships. Eight years ago, we were finally able to get assistance through Catholic Schools Foundation of approximately $10,000.00. This year, they gave us additional retention & recruitment funds which are quite helpful. We have the St. Vincent de Paul scholarship which is need-based only; a single mother scholarship from a past parishioner who has continued this for several years; the 200 Foundation scholarships for diversity; the Jerry & Meg Robinson scholarship for Catholic students as well as the HAS Fund. With over 300 students attending Saint Bridget School this year, we are awarding $108,145.00 in scholarships to 36 families assisting 64 students in continuing their Catholic education; $67,500.00 of this comes directly from the Help-A-Student Fund. Each family is required to file an application through a grant & aid assessment before being considered. So, each Fall when you read in the bulletin about the HAS Fund and that “no child should be denied a Catholic education because of tuition,” please consider making a donation of any size. As you can see, every donation counts. Your taxdeductible donation can be made out to St. Bridget HAS Fund & sent to the rectory. Thank you.
