Hopkinton win Unified Championship
Hopkinton bested Plymouth Regional, 32-23, to win the first
annual NHIAA Unified Basketball Championship at Southern
New Hampshire University on Saturday. The league, a partnership
with NHIAA and the Special Olympics of New Hampshire, brings
together high school students with intellectual disabilities and
their peers without disabilities on the same team.
Senior Zach Calley scored a game-high 16 points on
8-of-19 shooting and added eight rebounds for Coach Robin
O'Dougherty's team, which finished the season 8-0. Hopkin-ton
led 7-2 after the first quarter and 16-6 at the break. Plymouth
went on a 7-0 run to pull within seven with 1:26 left in the game,
but a runner by Sweetbrown sealed the win for Hopkinton.
Division II Girls' Finals

Turkey hunters gather at Morse's Sporting Goods
The New Hampshire Fish and Game
Hunter Education Program, in cooperation
with Morse Sporting Goods of Hillsborough,
will host a Turkey Hunting Shot Patterning
and Safety Clinic on Saturday, April 7, 2012,
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Morse Sporting
Goods, 85 Contoocook Falls Road, Hillsborough. The clinic will be an opportunity
for hunters to have the valuable experience
of experimenting with an array of various
turkey loads by different manufacturers
on an economical "shotshell by shotshell"
basis. NH Fish and Game Hunter Education
instructors will be on hand to assist new and
veteran hunters. Shotguns and a variety of
chokes will be available, as well. If you plan
on attending the Turkey Hunting Patterning Clinic or have any questions, please call

Mount Royal breaks ground
Mount Royal Academy has broken
ground on a new academic building that will
contain classrooms for students in pre-K
through grade 8. The two-story building will
be completed in July. The expansion of the
campus provides much needed space for the
school, which has doubled its enrollment in
the past four years. The new building is the
latest in facility developments for the Academy which, just last year, added The Saint
Joseph Center - a 12,000 square foot multipurpose building that includes a gymnasium,
computer and science labs, office space and a
lunchroom.
