Legion Commander visits NH VA Medical Center
Text & photo by Richard Dahlgren
Fang A. Wong, National American Legion
Commander and his wife Barbara recently
paid a visit to the Manchester VA Medical Center. Dr. Marc F. Levenson, Medical
Center Director, greeted the Wongs and gave
them a brief overview of the Medical Center’s
capabilities. Commander Wong stressed the
need for good medical care for the veterans
and their families.
Levenson informed Wong that some of
his accomplishments since assuming the
position of Director, included a state of the
art ophthalmologic surgical program that
includes cataract surgery and a new MRI
that helps to reduce patient waiting time thus
allowing more patients to be treated. Other
additions include Same-Day-Surgical and
Endoscopy suites. Eye, Audiology, Dermatology and Podiatry Clinics have grown.
The VA Center has also begun Primary
Care Mental Health integration and has
expanded the Home Base Primary Care
program to all of the Community Based Out-
patient Clinics throughout the state.
Concluding their meeting, Commander
Wong and Dr. Levenson agreed that the VA
Medical Center in Manchester is a dynamic
and progressive healthcare organization
dedicated to providing quality, compassionate and accessible care and service to New
Hampshire veterans.
