What to Do
Peggy’s Cove – About an hour and a half from Lunenburg
just outside the capital city of Halifax. Known as the idyllic
fishing village, Peggy’s Cove is one of the most popular stops in
Atlantic Canada. Set on rocky shores, the lighthouse and village
at Peggy’s Cove are a photographer’s paradise. Peggy’s Cove is
certainly one of Canada’s gems.

town Lunenburg was inscribed on the World Heritage list of the
UNESCO Convention Concerning the Protection of the World
Cultural and National Heritage. Inscription on this list confirms
the exceptional universal value of a cultural or natural site which
deserves protection for the benefit of all humanity.

1 Indian Falls
To commemorate the Municipality of the District of
Lunenburg’s 125th anniversary in 2004, Indian Falls was
designated as a Municipal Park. The park offers a picnic area,
on-site privies, walking trails, rock beach and look off points.

Lunenburg County Winery
The winery is located at Hackmatack Farm, a commercial
highbush blueberry farm. Take a pleasant drive into the
country were you can taste wine, pick berries,
picnic, or tour the winery and N.S. craft store.

3 Petite Riviere Vineyard
French colonists planted the first vine in this area in the
early 1600’s. In 1994, Petite Riviere Vineyards revived the
tradition. Wines from Canada’s oldest winegrowing region
are now available at the winery, and at select restaurants in

Peter Blais and Tom Alway design and build heritiage
reproduction furniture and furnishings in the colourful
tradition of 19th Century, Nova Scotia. Their unique barn

Connecting the LaHave Islands to the mainland this
beach stretches out from the shore to Georges Island
and provides a popular beach destination for tourists
throughout the summer.

Unique, unspoiled promontory of 124 acres separates the
LaHave estuary and Hartling Bay. It consists of marine,
terrestrial and wetland ecosystems. Gaff Point offers; steep
cliffs, tidal pools where topography becomes gentler; and
sand and gravel beaches along the shoreline.

Ovens Natural Park
Blue Rocks
A small village about a six minute drive from Lunenburg.
The little community of Blue Rocks is advertised as
“Lunenburg’s answer to Peggy’s Cove”.

Osprey Ridge Golf Club
A privately owned 190 acre pristine reserve of coastal
forest. Some of the highlights of the park season are the
unique sea caves, tours, gold panning on Cunard’s beach, the
miner’s museum and nightly entertainment by the fire.

than three kilometers of white sand, rolling surf, fresh sea
air, drumlin cliffs and breathtaking views.
Tancook Islands
Big Tancook and Little Tancook are 2 islands located 6 miles
off the southern coast of Nova Scotia in Mahone Bay. These
two islands are accessible by passenger ferry from the
historic yachting community of Chester.
