 This Week
This week was great! We had Staff Appreciation Day on
Tuesday and on the behalf of all the staff at Day Camp
Sunshine we thank you! We were encouraged by your love and
support of the counselors. We love you guys!! Wednesday we
had Kangaroo Court. Many were sued, some had to get pied
with mustard and ketchup. The Gull boys had to make a
phone call to the counselor’s mother to apologize for all the
your momma jokes used throughout the summer. It was great
fun! Thursday was trip day! Three successful trips, everyone
had an amazing time! Friday floored me with the amount of
talent the campers have at the Camper Talent Show. The
Campers are creative, talented, and funny!

Zilinski’s
Monday the Zilinski’s sent an ice cream truck to camp;
treating all the staff and campers to free ice cream. The
Zilinski’s are a camp family that has been coming to camp for
years. In 2006, their daughter, Janet, had a passed away due
to heart failure. Now the Zilinski family works tirelessly to
prevent this from happening to other children. For more

Next Week
All the Counselors are so stoked for next week as we go into
our International Day on Friday! Campers get to learn all about
the different countries represented at DCS. Thursday is our
second and last Parent Picnic! If you had fun last picnic you
will have a blast this picnic. Campers will show off all their
work from the arts and crafts elective. Come with a dessert
to share.

Summer 2015 Issue DCS Newspaper #6 Newspaper Elective Written and photographed by campers Kangaroo Court happens every year at Day Camp Sunshine. Campers and counselors are happy it’s back. Three different people including her own co-­‐counselor took Miss Viv to the court. She got pied in the face. Mr James, Mr Seth and Miss Alex got ice water poured on them for not following requests from campers. The Gull Boys had to ring Mr. Chris’ mum to say sorry for making mean jokes about her. However, they told her that Mr Chris lied. A good day was had by all even with Judge Richards strange forms of justice. Electives Every body seems to like their electives. Arts and Crafts: It’s fun,
they are working on letters and building with sticks. Sandcastles:
making sand pie and big hills. Gaga: Genna likes gaga, a lot of
campers like this game. There is only one tam in the game floor
hockey! They like it and they are having lots of fun! So Electives
are going good this week. Thank you for reading this!
All about Reggie Reggie has not been here since week four. Reggie could
be any counselor at Day Camp Sunshine. He might steal
the golden pot. Reggie is very sneaky but not sneaky
enough to get passed us cause every week we catch
Reggie. Other Counselors could be teaming up with
Reggie to steal more things at Day Camp Sunshine. If

DCS The Musical Behind the scenes of DCS the Musical During the camp show one of the microphones went missing and we had to sing louder to make up for it. We found it by Act 2 The song “On My Own” from Les Mis was included in the musical very late with little practice but the leads still did amazing. Did you spot some of the background posters? Some of them included support for Polars and Grizzlys as well as wanted posters for that camp villain Reggie. The camper musical and the parent musical is slightly different as there was a special guest appearance in the parent one; lady the dog. Our DCS Staff
It’s another year of our favorite DCS staff. I sure was excited
to be with nice counselors. Usually on counselor appreciation
day campers get counselors nice gifts. Some of our
counselors deserve a gift like Mrs. Nicoletta and Mr. Ricky
because they are so kind, like Miss Kayla for being the life of
the party, and Mrs. Rachel for being so funny. So I am sure we
are happy to be with our counselors.
