Most of the cases required only minor

oustead Information Technology Sdn. Bhd. recently organised its staff teambuilding during
a 4 day 3 night retreat in Bangkok. The objective was to strengthen bonds between old and
new staff by exploring new experience in foreign country.
we headed for lunch at Mak Yah Muslim Restaurant
and went back to the hotel. We spent the evening
at Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, Bangkok inside
the Siam Paragon Mall where we met world famous
people, artists and celebrities. Our last dinner in
Bangkok was at the Al-Hilal Muslim Restaurant before
we went for our last minute shopping at MBK Mall.
Upon arrival at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport, we were greeted by our
tour guide Ms. Pinky before she took us for our first visit to Wat Arun or Temple
of Dawn. We boarded a boat for a cruise along the Chao Phraya River where we
stopped and fed the hungry catfish near the river side. We left the historical river and drove to
Nopparat Restaurant where we had our dinner while being entertained by the cultural show. We
checked-in late into our hotel at Pathumwan Princess attached to the famous MBK Mall.

We started early and visited The Royal Grand Palace before heading to
Vimanmek Mansion which was built as a royal residence in the 20th century. We
had our lunch at Al-Hilal Muslim Restaurant before heading back to our hotel and
shopped at MBK Mall. Once we grew tired of shopping, we headed to Soffiya Muslim Restaurant
for dinner. Since the night was still young, we walked through the Siam Paradise Night Bazaar to
experience the night market shopping extravaganza.

Department staff recently took time
off from their busy schedules for a
departmental trip to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
The trip, from 7 to 10 October 2011, was
packed with exciting activities and visits.
Date Joined Boustead:
• February 2007
Current Position:
• Accountant, Damansara Entertainment Centre Sdn Bhd
Ahmad Fazril Fauzi started out at St. John’s Institution, where he
completed his SPM in 2000 with Prinsip Perakaunan being one
of the elective subjects in the examination. He completed his
matriculation programme in Economics at the Universiti Islam
Antarabangsa Malaysia and proceeded to Deakin University
in Melbourne to pursue his bachelor's degree in Commerce,
majoring in Accounting and Finance.
He joined Boustead in February 2007 under the Accountant
Trainee Programme. Since then, he has been assigned to
Boustead Engineering Sdn Bhd, Group Finance, Boustead
Hotels and Resorts Sdn Bhd and currently is an Accountant
with Damansara Entertainment Centre Sdn Bhd.
Fazril is an avid sports fan. He spends most of his free time
either watching or playing football. He is also active in tennis
and badminton. Being a Grade 7 pianist, his other major
interest is music where he tries to attend as many live music
shows as possible.
By his own admission, having to attend classes on weekends,
sit for exams while serving his responsibilities at work, was no
walk in the park. In addition to all the assignments, quizzes and
presentations that were pre-requisites for the course made
the task just a little bit harder. He states that the only way to
get through all five papers he sat for was by not looking too far
ahead and take it one paper at a time. This attitude served him
well as he completed the certification in less than three years
and graduated in May 2011.
When he received the results for the final examination, the
feeling was one of overwhelming relief and happiness. “At that
point my heart was beating out of my chest and when I found
out I had passed, I felt like giving everyone a hug and a highfive. Needless to say there were some bemused faces around
me!” He acknowledges that he knew it would be one of the
most challenging phases in his life and was determined to take

subsidiaries and assisted with Boustead
group financial reporting. Fazeyana is
currently married, and in her spare time, she enjoys shopping and

‘Jester the Teaser’.
In addition, seeing that Christmas would not be complete without a
Christmas tree, the Curve pulled out all stops with its 30-feet tall Christmas
tree this year. Located at the Piazza, the tress was surrounded by golden
arches and a garden of smaller Christmas trees adorned with colourful
ornaments. The Street as well as the Asian and Western courtyards of the
Curve were also decorated with hanging snowflakes, twinkling fairy lights
and festive garlands.
Mdm. Adele D. Flores, Centre Manager, the Curve said, “Christmas is a time for families
and friends to come together. At the Curve, we are pleased to see parents and children,
the young and old celebrate this joyous occasion and be enchanted by the Christmas
spirit in this festive atmosphere.”
