A well-balanced fusion of aesthetics and quality
that gives you perfection. That’s what RIMOWA
had to offer in a-week long RIMOWA Handmade Meets High-Tech event. Held at Pacific
Place, Ground Floor, the event showcased nine
Topas luggages collection from RIMOWA in
collaboration with two talented Indonesian
artists, Iwet Ramadhan and Kemal Ezedine.
Each one of the nine special luggages was
embellished with hand-painted sketch of
Indonesian heritage by Kemal Ezedine, such as
Batik Beautiful Sorrow, Pura Ulun Danu, Kecak,
Barong, Candi Borobudur, Candi Prambanan,
Wayang Kulit, Garuda Wisnu Kencana, and
Cendrawasih. In addition to the one of a kind
collection, an exclusive photo exhibition
featuring twelve Indonesian business icons with
their RIMOWA luggages, captured by none
other than Hakim Satriyo, was also displayed
throughout the week.

On the momentous evening of 1 July, RIMOWA invited numerous Indonesia’s bigwigs
in RIMOWA Charity Evening. This event gained amazing support from the hosts and
guests such as Novita Angie, Sigi Wimala, Daniel Mananta, Dian Sastrowardoyo, Titi
Kamal, and many more. RIMOWA’s special highlight of the night was the appearance
of Michael Wong, an international actor from Hong Kong who introduced his
exclusive piece with RIMOWA to the guests of the night.
All the attendees were welcomed to make bids for the ravishing Topas luggages
where all proceeds were donated to Museum Batik Yogyakarta. As mentioned during
the Press Conference at The Papilion, the generous idea came from the artist, Iwet
Ramadhan. He was concerned about the state of the museum, and the
preservation of Batik as Indonesia’s priceless heritage. Mrs. Ruby Sjabana as Group
Chief Operating Officer of Metrox Group Indonesia, Charles Yong as General
Manager of RIMOWA Far East Limited, Mr. Mohamad Helmi as the Representative
of BRI, Mr. Danny Yuwono who’s a Porsche Collector, and Mrs. Patricia Susanto from
Museum Batik Yogyakarta also participated in the auction.
RIMOWA Handmade Meets High-Tech has successfully combined the best of both
tradition and innovation.

Making its way into the sixth year,
Bravacasa, the architecture & interior
design and lifestyle magazine presented the premium living exhibition,
CASA by Bravacasa, from 9 – 12 July.
This event entered a new
milestone since it was the first ever
CASA by Bravacasa to be held separately from Bazaar Art Jakarta, and
where it incorporated every element
of art – from graphic to musical.

and interior designer Diana Nazir were
the consultants to this year’s event, and
with the overarching theme of “Larger
Than Life”, the attendees could enjoy
various world-class architecture, interior and product design installations
from both international and local

LARGE
talents. Six new special zones were introduced in addition to
the existing ones from last year: Bravacasa Academy, Cook
& Design, Alumni Bravacasa Design Challenge, Architects
& Photography, Creative Workshop, and Pop-Up Dining,
making CASA by Bravacasa not only an exhibition, but also
a completely integrated arena for architects, designers, and
interior enthusiasts.
From year to year, CASA by Bravacasa has become a go-to
space to inspire, learn, and share knowledge.

Indonesia.
60 years after its launching in 1955,
Series7™ by Arne Jacobsen remains
as the best seller chair in Republic of
Fritz-Hansen. The consistency in its
design over the years added with vast
color selections have made this chair
stands the test of time. For its 60th
anniversary, Series7™ comes in special
masculine edition in dark blue lacquer
shell and powder coated burnished
legs, and the feminine edition in pale
pink lacquer with 24-carat gold-plated
legs.

To celebrate six decades of Arne Jacobsen’s Series7™, Republic of Fritz-Hansen
invited prominent local interior designers to create and customize the iconic
Series7™ chairs in their own unique interpretations in “ID12 x Series7™” Show
Off. Prasetio Budhi, for instance, reinterpreted the chair by adding raw material,
paper robe, woven and wrapped around
the chair. While for Eko Priharseno, he
saw Series7™ as a personality and utilize
wood to turned the chair into Pinocchio
doll with his famous long nose.
Through this special collaboration, W. Atelier Indonesia is thriving to set a remarkable record in the furniture history. The
60th anniversary of Series7™ has shown
us that age is merely a number, and
Jacobsen’s timeless design will continue
to live on.
