30.11-4.12 Danish Crash Course
Are you interested in learning Danish but not sure it is something for you? Then join
our Danish language crash course and find out! Every evening for a week we will
hold a one-and-a-half hour long lesson in Danish. We will go through the basics,
practice pronunciation and most important of all - have a lot of fun. To sign up, send
us an e-mail with your name, membership number and contact details to [email protected],
before 28.11. The course is limited to 30 members.

The 150 anniversary of the birth of Jean Sibelius
“If I could express the same thing with words as with music, I would, of course, use a
verbal expression. Music is something autonomous and much richer. Music begins
where the possibilities of language end. That is why I write music. (1919)”.
Together with the Finnish Embassy and Culture Center of Belgrade we are
organizing a celebrational concert to mark the anniversary of the birth of Finnish
composer and violinist Jean Sibelius.

Sun 13.12 Scandinavian Corner 1 year!
- Celebration of S:t Lucia Our first year has been a wonderful success, full of exciting happenings and great
guests and now we wish to celebrate this with you! Escape the December darkness
and join us for our first birthday party and marking of St Lucia. A short summary of
what we have done during the year will be presented, mulled wine will be served, our
Nordic choir will treat you to a heart-warming Lucia concert and DJ Margarita from Iz
drugog ugla: Skandinavija will play the best tunes from the Nordic scene.

Fri 18.12 My life – a journey Tone Torp (Norway)
Equality and Human dignity
As a 16-year-old Tone was diagnosed with limb-girdle muscular dystrophy, a disease
that weakens the muscles of legs and arms. Since the age of 30 she has been in a
wheel chair and is today dependent on assistance in almost everything she does.
However, this has not stopped her from living her life. Tone will tell us what it's like to
live with special needs, both the funny and embarrassing situations and talk about
how a disease or injury can affect our feeling of self-worth and dignity and how to rebuild an identity.
Tone I. Torp runs her own company, vilvidere.no, that offers courses and lectures on communication and
interaction between professionals and users of health services, with focus on equality, user perspective and
user participation. She works part-time as a lecturer on the same topics and is the chairman of ffm.no
(Norwegian association for persons affected by muscular diseases). Tone has traveled the world and her
goal is to visit every one of the world’s continents.

21-25.12 Nordic Movie Week
We finish off our program for 2015 in the place where we once started, Leila Records
and Books, with a whole week of Nordic movies. Every evening will be a new film
and a new country. Join us for cozy evenings with drinks, hang out and great Nordic
culture. The movie screenings starts at 18.30 every night and you can reserve a seat
by sending an sms to 064-2342491 on the day of the film screening.
