You won’t want to miss our Inaugural tour to this Scandinavian Festival. Our route takes us to
Bismarck for a break on your own before we complete the trek to Minot. Your included
Multi-Day admission to the Hostfest will allow you to explore the festival at your leisure.
Explore Viking Village and be prepared to see history! Walk among the Vikings, explore their
unique crafts and learn about their livelihood. Hear the clash of swords and shields by trained warriors. See hot
iron forged into Viking Age items by blacksmiths. Try your hand at Viking archery with hand-made longbows. Our
home while in Minot is at the Baymont Inn & Suites. Built in 2012, this hotel offers a pool, spa tub, fitness center,
free WiFi & hot/cold breakfast. Approx. departure from Aberdeen 7:30 a.m. with arrival at Minot at 2:00 p.m. (CB)
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2015
Let’s start our day with a delicious hot & cold breakfast at the Baymont before
we depart for our first full day at the Norsk Hostfest. The day is yours to do
what you want. There is plenty of free entertainment including Mollie B., The
Norwegian Cowboy Bjoro Haaland, Williams & Ree, Stone Brook Strings,
Ricky Nelson Remembered with guests The Vees, Glenn & Millie and more!
Only at Hostfest can you find genuine Scandinavian merchandise and you’ll
find plenty at the more than 100 Hostfest shopping booths. So much to do and where, oh where to begin? Big part of the festival is
enjoying the Scandinavian food so we hope you find some of your favorites! There are many delicious favorites such as Swedish meatballs,
Viking on a Stick, lefse or rice pudding to name a few! At the Tromso Cultural Village, you will find the most unique and enriching
experiences. From dancing to storytelling, interactive experiences take center stage. Try your hand at felting or rock-trolling or take
part in a cultural dialogue held inside an authentic Chippewa tepee. Uff Da! It’s been a great day and we’re only just beginning! Rest up
because tomorrow is another great day to be a “Scandinavian!”

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2015
Savor all your favorites at the hot & cold breakfast before we depart the hotel
for our second day at Hostfest. Did you catch Willie, Waylon and Johnny Cash
as The Highwaymen, The Ringling 5, The Western Senators or Auntie
Kreamsaugen ? What dining treats will you try today? Royal Danish Pastry,
Danish aebleskivers, roomegrot or Oof-da-tacos? Author’s Corner is a place
to listen to your favorite authors speak about their books, their life and listen
to them read their books. The Nordic Kitchen features some of Scandinavia’s finest chefs and food artists. Audience members will learn
to make Scandinavian delicacies, meet the chefs at each demonstration and leave with free recipes. More free entertainment is available
this afternoon; perhaps you will witness the Skandi Ski Fantasy, Swedes in the Weeds, or the Dance of the Norwegian Sweaters. (CB)
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2015
It’s Saturday already but thre’s much more to explore at Norsk Hostfest! See the shows that you fell in love
with again, visit the shows you haven’t had a chance to see, last call for some lefse and lutefisk and simply enjoy
Saturday at the festival. Have you had the pleasure of listening to the Norsk Hostfest Accordion Club?
About 200 accordion players from 20 states and Canadian provinces assemble once a year to perform just
for fun! It will be time to bid a fond “Ha det” or Goodbye to our temporary Scandinavian roots and depart for
Aberdeen with a supper break on your own in Jamestown. Just a friendly reminder: No lutefisk allowed on the bus!
