We make it easy to recognise quality
The star is your guide. Before a product is awarded the Mercedes-Benz
logo it has to pass a whole range of intensive tests. Every aspect –
material quality, aerodynamics, safety – is painstakingly scrutinised.
Further testing makes sure that the interior materials used do not
give off any unpleasant odours or harmful substances over the course
of their long product life.
At our in-house crash test facilities we don’t just study the
performance of our vehicles. Roof-mounted carrier systems, child
seats and even radios are also honed to ensure optimum safety
in the event of an accident.
Our engineers also have a major advantage up their sleeves: when
developing products which have to be precisely tailored to the
dimensions of the vehicle, they can build directly on the CAD data
provided by our vehicle development department. No wonder that,
for example, our boot tub is a perfect fit for the load area of your
Mercedes-Benz [see D].
We also pay a great deal of attention to products that aren’t always
necessarily the focus of interest: floor mats, for example. Long-term
tests determine how resistant they are to wear [ see A /C ] and fading [ B].
As you can see, quality does not involve making compromises.

The convenient design of the Mercedes-Benz
bicycle rack allows the cycle to be attached
at ground level. The cycle is simply mounted
on the rail alongside the vehicle and both
are then fitted to the basic carrier bars

Coil lock
The bicycle rack is fitted to the basic carrier bars. Each bicycle rack can hold
one bicycle with a max. frame diameter of 98 mm (circular frame tubes) or 110 x 70 mm
(oval frame tubes). The support frame folds down when not in use, reducing drag
when travelling without cycles. The cycles can either be attached to the rack once
it has been fitted to the roof or before it is fitted (see above right)
