Celebrating the end of the week
Because I’m up at 4am Monday to Friday, I really look forward to a glass of vino on
Friday night, so I choose my tipple carefully as it’s a real treat by the time Friday rolls
around! I fell in love with Italian wines when I attended Debbie O’Donnell’s wedding,
in November last year, at Lake Como. She produces TV3’s Xposé so all the girls from
the show were there and we had a truly wonderful time. I discovered a great wine
range called Danzante from the north of the country, with the Pinot Grigio
being a particular favourite.
Italy
The first time I tasted Italian wines I was blown away
by the quality, they undoubtedly have some of the
best white wines in the world. I look forward to
exploring more of what they have to offer.
Danzante’s Pinot Grigio is perfect for entertaining
and is great with Italian cuisine.
Their winery, which has won countless awards, is
located in Firenze, a wonderful part of the country.
Entertaining
My husband Davie and I love having friends round for dinner. He’s a
great cook, but, it’s my turn next. I’m doing my pan fried sea bass with citrus dressed
broccoli, so I need a good crisp white and also full bodied red, so that all my guests
palates are catered for. Another thing I love about Danzante wines is that you get
serious quality wine for an excellent price and they always go down a storm as they
suit all tastes.
Family
My father is a big wine buff, he loves trying new wines. My parents live in Crete, they
are coming home for Easter and will stay with us, which I’m so excited about. Davie
is cooking dinner, this year we’ll have Danzante wine on the table. Dad’s a very tough
wine critic but I don’t need to worry as Danzante has never failed me yet!

A luminous straw yellow colour with generous gold

that include tropical fruits, such as banana,
pineapple, and papaya, as well as spicy notes of
cinnamon and vanilla. The palate is bold and selfconfident, with a smooth feel and appealing
warmth. A very leisurely finish ends on a subtle note
of fresh crisp fruit.
This Pinot Grigio goes particularly well with grilled
vegetables, seafood and lightly salted fish.

DANZANTE MERLOT
This wine is a rich ruby red and has subtle purplish
highlights. The nose initially reveals emphatic
notes of wild berry fruit, such as wild cherry and
blueberry. This wine has a large presence of ripe
juicy berry flavours and it's almost endless smooth
velvet finish provides the wine's impressive
conclusion.
Our Merlot is perfect with pasta dishes or light
meat stews, as well as sautéed beef with vegetables
and medium-aged cheeses.
