Year 2: Practical Training
This is spent converting the knowledge gained in year 1
into Practical Application.
Phase 1
Firstly in dedicated training workshops you will gain the hand
skills and knowhow to use the tools and instrumentation
required to safely maintain aircraft.
Phase 2
Practical training is conducted in the busy environment of live
aircraft maintenance. You will be actively involved in actual
maintenance activities on A320, B737 and B757/767 aircraft
carrying out engine replacements, cabin refurbishment and
structural repair, flight control and landing component
replacements.
You will be working alongside experienced engineers who will
support you during this phase and bring you to the
competency levels expected by industry leaders such as
Lufthansa Technik. You will also gain substantial insight of the
management of aircraft overhaul in one of the world’s leading
MRO providers.
A Growing Industry
The airline industry will see solid long-term growth over the next 20
years with yearly passenger totals climbing from 713 million to nearly 1.3
billion, the US government recently predicted. This will require more
technical training centres of high-calibre such as Shannon Aerospace and
it will require that more aviation maintenance engineers be trained and
retrained in the new aircrafts that are coming on stream as there will be
more jobs available and more dedicate engineers be required to fill
these jobs.
Shannon Aerospace is one of the most experienced and respected
training organisation within in the industry.
This gives great possibilities for worldwide employment.
