Dear Friends,
Welcome to Grace Notes 2016! All of us at Komen
Puget Sound are so pleased to present this very
special evening – the 10th anniversary of our
black-tie gala.
Tonight we celebrate not only our successes but
the unprecedented opportunities on the horizon.
Through your generosity, Komen Puget Sound
supports women in our community through the
continuum of breast health care, from education
to free mammograms for those who need them
to guidance and financial assistance as they navigate the complexities of
treatment following diagnosis. In addition, your donations fund research
to improve breast cancer screening tests and help women whose lives are
endangered by the disease. Our local Komen Scholars at the University of
Washington and Fred Hutch are working to determine who is most at risk
for breast cancer and discover the most effective treatments.
Your presence and generous support helps save lives in our community
while moving research forward toward our goal of a world without breast
cancer. Thank you for joining us.

Heads or Tails — Chance Game!
Let’s start the night off with a fun
interactive game – Heads or Tails!
Here’s how it works: Each guest can enter the
game by purchasing a blinky ring for $50
during the cocktail reception. Auctioneer
Fred Northup, Jr. will ask everyone with a
blinky ring to stand, then to select heads or
tails. Designate your choice by placing your hand on
your head for heads, and your hand on your bum for tails.
Fred will flip a coin and whichever side lands up, those players continue in
the game while everyone else sits down. This process continues. Once the
field is narrowed down to the last two players, one selects heads and the
other selects tails for the final coin flip to determine the winner of
our game.
The winner of Heads or Tails will receive a $1,000 Expedia Gift Certificate.

well-being, a style described as Romantic Realism.
Since her childhood in Russia, Kondakova has been fascinated by
traditional art. Her technique is that of medieval egg tempera painters.
Kondakova connects her highly trained background to her artistic
expression: “In my art, the essence and beauty has always rested in the
details.”

winemaker there to guide you! Your private wine
tasting for 6 will be hosted by Komen Puget Sound

endless and savory finish.

Evening. You and 5 friends will get a chance to go behind the scenes as

Breast cancer screening can help find breast cancer
early, when the chances of survival are highest.
Screening is important for all women, no matter
their level of risk. Susan G. Komen believes all
women should have access to regular screening
mammograms when they and their health care
providers decide it is best based on their personal
risk of breast cancer. In addition, screening should
be covered by insurance companies, government
programs and other third-party payers.
OUR PROMISE:
To save lives and
end breast cancer forever
by empowering people,
ensuring quality care for all
and energizing science to
find the cures.
