Newport Library welcomes
Batman and Batwoman!!
On May 4, Batman and Batwoman visited our children’s library to share their love of
books. They each read one of their favorites, then taught the children to pose like a superhero. The Jacksonville Daily News featured the story for us, so many thanks to them! And
thank you to Batman and Batwoman for such an exciting storytime!

On Your Mark, Get Set...Read!
It’s that time of year again! Summer Reading registration starts on Monday, June 13. The summer theme
for the children’s library is “Get in the Game, Read!” The program is about exercise and playing games; it
will be lots of fun for everyone! Readers will keep a log of titles read and be eligible to win prizes. Certificates of achievement will be awarded to all children passing in a reading record by August 6. Our sponsors
this year are Dick’s Sporting Goods, Wal-Mart, Taco Bell, Subway, Buffalo Wild Wings and the Friends of
the Newport Library.
Scooby Doo is dressed as a referee, remaining fair and
neutral in the summer reading games!
