MESSAGE FROM THE MANAGEMENT Alfa-Bank places great emphasis on charity work and takes part in numerous social and cultural projects. The number of charity initiatives carried out by Alfa-Bank has been increasing each year. We pay great attention to educational activity; today both Alfa-Bank’s employees and its clients take an active part in social projects. In this report, we would like to tell you about the most interesting social, cultural and charity events organised by Alfa-Bank in 2012 and also about volunteer events initiated by Alfa-Bank employees. Last year Alfa-Bank helped bring popular Russian artists and foreign celebrities to Russian audiences, organised guest performances by top theatre groups and concerts of popular performers in town and cities across Russia and supported numerous cultural projects. It also paid attention to an important event in Russian history, the bicentennial of Napoleon’s 1812 invasion, marking it with a national exhibition. Various events were held with Alfa-Bank’s support, such as a tour by Aquarium (a great Russian rock band), guest performances by the Novaya Opera Theatre, a tour by Oleg Menshikov (a famous Russian actor) where he performed his new act, jazz concerts, classical music events, film festivals and exhibitions. Engaged in cultural and educational activity, Alfa-Bank also helps those who need it most. For more than eight years now, Alfa-Bank has supported the Life Line Fund, a charitable foundation whose work is dedicated to saving the lives of very sick children. Another area of concern is helping children without parental care. Many volunteer programmes help improve the lives of children in need. Alfa-Bank supports the initiatives of its employees. For example, last year it awarded money to the best projects. Alfa-Bank also responded to the tragedy in the town of Krymsk, which was flooded in the summer of 2012. Alfa-Bank employees provided financial and humanitarian aid to people from flood-devastated areas. Neither have we forgotten about veterans of the Second World War. Last year, Alfa-Bank employees congratulated veterans of 25 towns and cities across Russia, from Kaliningrad to Khabarovsk, on Victory Day, giving them gifts and financial aid. Another important part of Alfa-Bank’s social activity is supporting talented young people. Finally, we would like to add that Alfa-Bank has always been and will always be one of Russia’s most socially involved organizations. We understand that we are responsible for the future of our country, and each year we will hold more and more cultural, educational and charity events and help our employees and clients contribute to creating and developing social projects.
