When used with a hot water or low-pressure/high-pressure steam boiler & chilling system, pasteurization vats can heat and cool almost any food, dairy, beverage or chemical products. Sometimes referred to as Processors or Starter Tanks. Batch Pasteurizers are commonly used for milk pasteurization but should be used to record proper batch pasteurization of most any product. The Anco Batch Pasteurizer comes in standard and custom sizes ranging from 50 to 2,000 gallons. The Anco Combo Vat is designed for the small cheese maker; it allows for milk pasteurization and cheese making in one vat. This vat is available from 50 to 200 gallons. 3 Anco Equipment’s Batch Pasteurizer Collection Construction and Tank Options Capacity Range: Tank Top: Tank Bottom: Tank Interior Shell: Interior Finish: Jacket: Insulation: Tank Exterior Shell: Exterior Finish: Outlet: Agitation: 50-2,000 gallon Flat top with removable covers, Wing-Top, Dome Top with Manhole Slight Slope to outlet Cylindrical vertical, 11 gauge type 304 or 316 stainless steel Number 4 finish food grade (1-4 ) heating zones available, 304 full vertical side wall and bottom dimple plate jacket, Max. 70 PSI 2" polyurethane insulation Cylindrical vertical, 14 gauge type 304 or 316 stainless steel Number 4 finish 1.5” or 2” Leak Detection Valve well Food Grade Euro-Drive Gear Reducer and Wash-down Baldor Motor optional variable speed drive. What does this mean for you? It means all of our designs have been inspected by a 3-A Certified Conformance Evaluator to ensure they meet the 3-A and FDA-PMO requirements. Included in that inspection are thermo studies, material certifications (metal and plastic materials), drawings, surface roughness testing, radius conformance and quality control procedures for each Batch Pasteurizer we build. 3-A Setup includes: Batch Pasteurizer, Anderson Package, Air Space Heater & Leak Detection Valve. These tanks come standard with CIP (clean in place) spray-balls for easy cleaning and have many different agitation options. They are an affordable alternative to the High Temperature Short Time (HTST) Systems. Standard Features: Euro-drive Wash-Down Motor Stainless Baffles Adjustable Ball Feet Anderson Thermowell 2” Valve Outlet Multiple Ports (2) Lifting Lugs (2) CIP Spray-Balls Accessories: Anderson Chart Recorder Product & Air Space Thermometers Electric Airspace Heater & Control Leak Detection Valve 6 Anco Equipment’s Batch Pasteurizer Collection Wing Top Batch Pasteurizer Wing top doors with center bridge is offered in all sizes. This design is an excellent option when more access is need to the product before or after pasteurization. A favorite for yogurt & ice cream producers, the larger opening makes it easier to add cultures, mixes and flavoring. Standard Features: Euro-drive Wash-Down Motor Stainless Baffles Adjustable Ball Feet Anderson Thermowell 2” Valve Outlet Multiple Ports (2) Lifting Lugs (2) CIP Spray-Balls Accessories: Anderson Chart Recorder Product & Airspace Thermometer Electric Airspace Heater & Controller Leak Detection Valve 7 Anco Equipment’s Batch Pasteurizer Collection Open Top Batch Pasteurizer The removable top option is popular with our pasteurizing cheese vat. It can only be used in tank sizes from 50-200 gallons. The cover is a split top and the agitator is completely removable. This is designed to make cheese in the vat after pasteurization. Standard Features: Leeson Motor-Gear with Controller Removable Agitation Adjustable Ball Feet 2” Valve Outlet Multiple Ports (2) CIP Spray Balls Accessories: Anderson Chart Recorder Product & Airspace Thermometers Electric Airspace Heater & Controller Leak Detection Valve Whey Screen Curd Knives/Harp 8 Anco Equipment’s Batch Pasteurizer Collection Accessories for a Batch Pasteurizer According to Pasteurizing Milk Ordinance (PMO) guidelines, there are a few additional accessories needed to insure you are delivering a safe product. The Anderson AJ 311 package consists of a dual pen circular chart recorder. This unit offers NEMA 4X washdown protection in an enclosure that is easily wall or panel mounted. The two dual element all stainless steel temperature probes are provided. One probe is used for monitoring air-space temperature, and the other for monitoring product temperature. Each probe has an integral display, easily viewable by the operator. The Anco Electric Air-Space Heater consists of a stainless steel heating element that is connected to a Rheostat. The element connects to a 3” Triclamp port on top of a pasteurizer. With the help of small stainless blades at the top of the agitator the airspace is moved and heated to the appropriate temperature needed. The element can be cleaned by CIP spray-balls or removed and cleaned by hand. A Leak Detect Valve is a stainless steel plug valve that is specially designed to prevent raw milk from being allowed back in to the pasteurized batch. If the valve is not closed correctly or not working properly, the valve will drip milk out the bottom of the valve. This valve is required for all legal batch pasteurization. 9 Anco Equipment’s Batch Pasteurizer Collection Agitator Options for Batch Pasteurizer There are many agitation options for different product applications. Customized speeds/rpm ‘s, horsepower, and electrical requirements are available per request. Anco typically uses Euro-drive and Baldor motors, however we accommodate other requests. Standard Agitation is our most popular blade. It allows fluid such as milk or cream to get proper agitation. A side baffle also comes standard in larger volume tanks. Curd Blade Agitation is the agitation you will find in our Open-Top Pasteurizer. The holes in the agitator blades are gentler on the curds during the cheesemaking process. Full Sweep Agitation uses stainless blades on side and bottom to move the product off the interior walls without actually touching them. This is helpful if you are experiencing burn-on. Side Scrape Agitation allows for a medium consistency product to be agitated properly. These agitation options can also be used in process tanks for other non-dairy products. 10 Anco Equipment’s Batch Pasteurizer Collection Single Zone Jacket Install Steam must always enter from the top inlet jacket and exit from the bottom or lower jacket port.
