This morning we are off to Freeport, Maine. Home to L.L.Bean, Yankee Magazine selected Freeport as the Best Shopping
Town in New England. The charming town has myriad opportunities for shopping, recreating, and outdoor enjoyment.
We’ll have several hours to explore the L.L.Bean headquarters location and the other factory outlets.
From Freeport we are off to Portland– Maine’s largest city-by-the-sea. Our driver will drop us off along the city’s bustling
waterfront where we will choose from the many area restaurants for lunch on our own. After lunch we will enjoy a
fascinating tour of the city. We’ll see views of Longfellow’s boyhood home, sea captain houses and the elegant Victoria
Mansion as we drive through historic neighborhoods overlooking the islands of Casco Bay in Portland Harbor. Our tour
includes a stop at Portland Head Lighthouse. This historic landmark is the most photographed lighthouse in America
and is set in beautiful Fort Williams Park.
Following the tour you’ll have time to explore Portland’s historic Old Port and have dinner on your own before heading
to the Portland Stage Company for an evening performance of Frank McCourt’s The Irish and How They Got That Way.
Following the play we will return to Brunswick. [Brunswick Hotel]

This morning we will head to the southern Maine coastal towns Kennebunk and Kennebunkport. We will meet our guide
at the Seashore Trolley Museum. Our tour will include a narrated tour of Kennebunkport area including a tour of the
Kennebunk’s, a view of the summer home of George and Barbara Bush, coastline comparisons of Kennebunk beaches,
the Wedding Cake House, the Franciscan Monastery, sea captains homes and the beautiful rocky coastline. At the
conclusion of the tour you have time to stroll through the village of Kennebunkport and grab a bite to eat.
After lunch we are off to the charming town of Ogunquit, Maine. With ninety percent of its shoreline open for the public
to enjoy, leisure and recreation activities abound on the beautiful white sand beach. Each year thousands of visitors
walk the Marginal Way trail that meanders along the rocky coastline for a mile and a quarter from town to the fishing
community of Perkins Cove.
Both the Town and Perkins Cove retain the charm of a bygone era when artists and fishermen made their living here.
Specialty shops, boutiques and both indoor and outdoor dining are just steps away from inns and resorts that welcome
visitors. This afternoon we will enjoy a Nubble Light House cruise. This fourteen mile round trip offers unsurpassed views
of York’s elegant homes and rocky coast. Enjoy your favorite beverage aboard the Finestkind III as you cruise leisurely
to the lighthouse, and don’t forget your camera– as we circle the seldom seen back of the Nubble Lighthouse you will
have breathtaking photo opportunities. Following the cruise you will have time to explore lovely Perkins Cove and have
dinner in one of the many restaurants. Following dinner we are off to a performance of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert at
the famed Ogunquit Playhouse. [Brunswick Hotel]
S AT U R DAY AU G U S T 20, 2016
Today we are off to charming Boothbay Harbor. We will enjoy an included lunch at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens
with a guided tour of the fabulous gardens after lunch. Ranked at number one on TripAdvisor’s top ten public gardens
in the U.S. the 270 acre Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens has many magical features and one of the most notable is
that it is constantly changing. The color and landscape not only vary season-to-season but also week-to-week.
Following the garden tour you’ll have plenty of time to explore quaint Boothbay Harbor. Boothbay Harbor was named as one
of Yachting Magazine’s ‘50 Best Towns’ and is truly a boater’s paradise. With the largest boating harbor north of Boston,
the picturesque harbor is home to working lobster boats, historic windjammers, dinghies, dories, and luxury yachts.
We’ll head back to our hotel in Brunswick at the end of the afternoon with time to freshen up before enjoying a
traditional Maine Lobster bake. Tonight you enjoy the performance of Mamma Mia at the Maine State Music Theatre.
Following the play, we’ll enjoy a lively post play discussion with the cast of Mamma Mia lead by Maine State Music
Theatre Artistic Director Curt Dale Clark. [Brunswick Hotel | Lunch and Dinner included]
