PRESENTATIONS
Dental Implants & Maintenance for the Dental Hygienist - Erik F Sahl, DDS, MSD
This course is meant for the dental hygienist and staff to provide an insight into common dental implant
prosthetics, complication diagnosis, and routine maintenance suggestions which can help lead to long-term
success for our patients.
Dr. Sahl is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Sahl is an Assistant Professor, Department of
Periodontics, Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. Dr. Sahl has won a number of prestigous awards and also
maintains a private practice in the Palm Desert vicinity.
The Perio-Systemic Health Connection: Where Are We Today?
- Brian L Mealey, DDS, MS
This lecture will provide a current overview of links between inflammatory periodontal diseases and
commonly encountered systemic conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and pregnancy
outcomes.
Dr. Mealey is Professor and Graduate Program Director in the Deptartment of Periodontics at the University of Texas
Science Center. Dr. Mealey is a Director of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Mealey maintains an active
clinical practice in periodontics and implant dentistry.
Periodontal Microsurgery and Endoscopy: Seeing is Believing! - John Y Kwan, DDS, BS
Minimally invasive treatments abound in medicine and dentistry. We now have hygienists provide non-surgical
tretaments using micro ultrasonic instrumentation visualizing with the periodontal endoscope. Discover a
world that has moved dentists, hygienists and periodontists to another level with technologies that enhance
your “vision”.
Dr. Kwan is an Associate Clinical Professor at UCSF School of Dentistry. Dr. Kwan has been published in national and
international peer reviewed journals and textbooks. Dr. Kwan maintains a private practice, which includes clinical
research and education. Dr. Kwan is President and CEO of Perioscopy, Incorporated.
