THIS MONTH There are only about 7 weeks of school left, which means things are winding down for those of you who are seniors. We are looking forward to spending a time of celebration with you at the Senior Luncheon on May 15! As you go through this time, whether a Senior or not, remember the words of Jeremiah 29:11 and Matthew 28:20. We are not drudging through the days by ourselves, even when it feels like we have papers that will take forever to write, projects that will never get done, and tests we can never pass. Be at peace as you wrap up the school year, knowing you will never walk alone. asbury youth ministries archery club Saturdays, 3:30 PM—5:00 PM • Archery at the Glenn, 7 Auburn Street, Allentown, PA Weekly Fee $5.00 Interested in attending? Just Cabinets on Tilghman Street were hosts to an “Alex’s Lemonade Stand” to help raise money toward children’s cancer research. The stands are held in various locations throughout the country in memory of Alexandra Scott, who raised money through yearly lemonade stands for the same cause prior to losing her own battle with cancer at age 8. Barry Olphin built the stand and we were asked to assist in painting and staffing the stand. Thanks to the Sr. High Guys Group for painting and to Ariel, Beth, Nate, Alex, McKenna and Sam for being servants, despite cold, wind, and rain! GRESS MOUNTAIN RANCH FUNDRAISER Through food service during a concert at Asbury on April 2, we were able to raise $250 to donate to Gress Mountain Ranch. The Gress Mountain Ranch is a safe haven and a place of recovery for the animals, as well as providing therapy to at-risk, inner city, special needs children, as well as adults and adolescents on parole. Both children and adults with psychiatric disorders are helped in healing through their "therapeutic ranch." Thanks to all who helped, and a BIG THANKS to Marianne Werling, Joe Kalinosky, and Don Wingate for coordinating the food and overseeing the kitchen! Don’t forget we are taking a trip to Oaks, PA on Saturday, May 21, 2011 to attend the Eastern PA Conference’s rally, THE BIG EVENT: ROOTED AND GROUNDED. Admission is $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Find more information and a permission slip at www.asburyym.org What Do We Offer?
