Thomas’s Story
Anyone that has ever come to the
shelter has probably met Thomas.
Thomas appeared in our driveway
in February 2004 & since that very
first day he came to the realization
that he owns this place. He has
become known as the MHF mascot.
Thomas takes his responsibilities very serious. He is
the official greeter, he inspects all donations,
oversees volunteers, is the official dog & cat tester,
& monitors our office work. Thomas is the most
outgoing cat you will ever meet & there is no one
like him. So next time you are at the shelter make
sure you say Hi to him!

In early 2013, The Middleburg Humane
Foundation started a Capital Campaign
project to build a new farm shelter
facility. This dream was made possible
through a generous donation of land
(23-acres located 2 miles from our current farm). Although we love our
current 4.5-acre farm shelter, the demand for assistance has quadrupled over the years and we have outgrown our facility. The new farm
shelter will provide a state of the art Spay/Neuter Clinic, Small Animal
Adoption Center, Grooming Salon, Humane Education Center and an
Equine and Livestock Rescue Facility all capable of accommodating our
growing needs. Land planning is now in process. Please contact
MHF if you would like to be a part of this exciting new chapter!
