GIFT FROM FATHER JOSEPH
Yesterday our school community acknowledged
Father Joseph’s 10th anniversary of priesthood at a
special assembly. Father Joseph was very touched
by this event and expressed great gratitude for all
the prayers, messages and the gift that was
presented to him. In return Father has a small gift for
each student at the school. These bookmarks will be
sent home today.
MINI VINNIES
CLOTHING DRIVE
To all our wonderful families who have made
donations to this appeal: a BIG thank you. Our
school has contributed nearly 1500kg of clothing.
Donations can still be made. Please drop them off in
the 6D classroom.

BOOK COVERING
The library has recently received a large number of
books, both Big Books and normal reading books
which require covering. They are looking for
energetic volunteers who would be willing to assist
with the book covering.

A covering workshop will be held next Thursday 24
June at 9.00am to show potential coverers the
library techniques of booking covering. If you have
some spare time and would be interested in covering
books for the school, come along to the workshop or
contact Jenny Rea (Library Technician).

FACTS ON CATHOLIC EDUCATION
•
Two out of every five Catholic schools are located outside of Australia’s major cities.
•
In Australia, the Catholic school system employs over 78,000 people. This is more people
than the entire Australian workforce involved in
the manufacturing of motor vehicles, or the
same number of people employed across
every single department store in Australia.
WEEKLY TIP
THIS FRIDAY
18TH JUNE
AT LUNCHTIME
$1 each
Never put water down
the drain when there
may be another use for
it such as watering a
plant or garden, or
cleaning.
FOOTY TIPPING UPDATE
Footy tipping for 2010 is more than half way through
already! Some tipsters are doing better than a
Michael Barlow style debut year while other’s
chances of success are looking more glum than a
Manager’s task of renegotiating a Worsfold coaching
contract.
Out in front after 12 weeks on 67 correct tips are the
Pollard Gang, who also took out the best total for
weeks 1-7. Hot on the Gang’s tail on 66 are Bijoux
Boys (Devlin), Rhinos (Ashlee and Matthew Ryan),
Stuart McCormack, the Fallows Kids and Mr Hignett.
In the weeks 8-15 competition, Rhinos are way out in
front and will be hard to beat with 3 rounds to play on
29. Those with a chance in 2nd spot on 27 are Mr
Hignett, Blueboy, McIntosh Family, Go the Vics and
Krummies.
Weekly winners from weeks 7-12 have been:
Week 7 – Your very competent footy tipping
administrator (ably assisted by the Cutler kids)
Week 8 – Blueboy (George)
Week 9 – Stuart McCormack
Week 10 – Rhinos (Ryan)
Week 11 – Griswalds (Lawler)
Week 12 – McIntosh family
Hignett Watch:
Despite 2 weeks getting oh so close and finishing 2nd,
number of victories so far in 2010 – 0.
Good luck
Michael Cutler

for putting a smile on all their faces and making their
life so much more enjoyable at school.
