Vivacious redhead stopping
traffic from the Driver’s Seat
W
HEN Tracy Killeen arrives
at The Pub in Tamworth
tomorrow night she’s sure
to have a great big smile on her face
– even bigger than usual.
The vivacious redhead has had a
succession of hit radio singles, the
last of which was the emotively
beautiful Brave. It held down the
top spot for four weeks and now her
catchy new release, Metrosexual
Craze, is set to follow suit.
This self-penned, tongue-incheek song takes a look at the emergence of the metrosexual man – he
who waxes, exfoliates and can
often spend more time in front of
the mirror than his girlfriend or
wife.
It’s a growing epidemic, it’s a Metrosexual Craze, so Tracy says. This
song will have you laughing, dancing and most likely agreeing that
“it’s hard for a woman to find a real
man these days”.

accompanies the song, directed by
Golden Guitar winner Duncan

Tracy’s new album, Driver’s Seat,
is gaining lots of accolades – and
not just from me. Susan Jarvis had
this to say about it in a recent edition of Capital News:
“The emotional depth behind
Tracy Killeen’s latest album is very
evident, but so is the indomitable
spirit and sense of fun that this talented young songwriter possesses
in spades. She is rapidly becoming
a major force in Australian country
music. This is an album to be

Multiple Golden Guitar winner
Sara Storer is another big fan of
Tracy’s work and says: “There is a

announced that the band
will return in January 2011 for
three shows only - and Blazes
at Wests is one of those.
Following their one-off
Tamworth Festival gig they will
do one show in Brisbane and
another in Sydney before heading back to the land of mounties
and maple leaves.
Band leader Chris Thornsteinson said they had such an
incredible time in Australia,
they couldn’t wait to get back.

Special guest on the Tamworth
and Sydney shows is ABC recording
artist, Peter McWhirter, the energetic country-rocker whose debut
album, Lucky As A Seven, recorded

Queensland country-folk duo,
Busby Marou, will perform on the
Brisbane show.
ADAM Harvey fans are no doubt
looking forward to August 20, the
release date for his new CD and
DVD, Best So Far, on the Sony
Music label.
This is a collection of
Adam’s favourite tracks spanning
his 10-year career in the business,
along with two new songs.
The special edition DVD will
include many of his currently
unavailable music videos, a brand
new video for his new song Better
Than This, interview footage with
his longtime producer Rod McCormack and a candid documentary
of Adam throughout his career.
Since his first Golden Guitar win
(with Tanya Self) in 1998, the man
with one of the best voices in the
business has had an amazing run,
securing seven Golden Guitars,
receiving the Global Artist Award in
Nashville and being invited to perform at the Grand Ole Opry
Ryman Auditorium.
Not bad for a bloke who
was driving trucks to earn
a quid before he had a
crack at the music
game.
“I have the
best job in the
world and
I’m
very
grateful –
it
just
doesn’t get any better than this,”
Adam says.
LIFE is never dull when you’re a
gifted guitarist and record producer like Brisbane-based performer,
Michael Fix.
The past two months have been
hectic, with Michael working on
various recording projects for other
artists, and in between commitments, recording tracks for his own
new album.
When he wasn’t busy in the
recording studio or performing
live, Michael was co-ordinating his
September-October European
tour.
He’s excited about his new album
project, a collaboration with various artists.
“So far I’ve recorded tracks with
Louie Shelton, Nadia
Sunde, Hat Trick,
Justin McCoy, Paul Robert Burton
and Andrew Toner, Sam Shepherd
and there is still more to come,”
Michael said.
Michael is planning what you
could call a “musical garage sale”, as
he is trying to make room for his
new CD in his warehouse (his
garage).
